Hey,
I'm trying to indulge my inner foodie periodically. I'm looking to spend $100-$150 per person. I can google the most reviewed places or do what Jonathan Gold tells me to, but I'm skeptical of food critics and I wanted to hear the average joe's experiences before I committ.

Depends on what you consider is a good restaurant. One could say Le Petit Chateau on Lankershim Blvd., and another could say The Oyster House on Moorpark. Two different kinds of places (the former being a formal kind of place, the latter being a bar and grill hole-in-the-wall), both great food.
