I'm to remember the title of a movie I saw a long time ago. I believe it was made in the '80s, and I saw it on TV around '90 or '91, I think. It followed a guy who was training to be a fighter with some light fantasy elements. He was looking for someone in particular who held this book of Great Truth or something like that. He meets a blind fighter who tries to teach him about some elements of life and the world and what it truly means to be a fighter. During the course of the movie, he has to fight and defeat different champions to lead up to a final confrontation with the guy he's looking for. It ends with (major spoilers if you actually want to see this movie):
him defeating a tribal chief on a beach, I think, and a boat comes for him to take him to an island where the guy he is looking for is. But the guy doesn't want to fight him. The main character keeps trying to staty alert for an attack, but no fight comes. Instead this guy is the guardian of the book, and allows him to choose whether to look in the book or not, but asks the fighter to take his place. The guy chooses to read to book, which actually just has mirrors on each page, showing himself. The guardian asks him to release him, pleading with him, but the fighter refuses and leaves, going back to join the blind guy, who asks him what he saw in the book. He responds, "Everything." The movie ends with a long shot of the blind guy playing a flute and fighter dancing to the music.
This has been bugging me for a while, I cannot for the life of me remember what movie it was. Some help would be appreciated.

"Yes I definitely agree it is no martial arts movie at all. As soon as the writers got hold of Bruce Lee's script, it all went out the window, much like Game of Death (one of the worse ever!!) It would have been much better without the poor attempts of martial arts in it. However, the zen and philosophy was very interesting, amusing and sometimes thought provoking. My two favourite parts, was one, the book of mirrors and two the end with the flute playing and the main characters were on the top of some mountain, wish I could find that soundtrack. Oh and the girl was not bad in it either;) . "
PS - Google search term: movie plot "book of mirrors"
