Just to clarify, we're talking about running a game during the Clone Wars, yes?

If so, I'm in. New characters?

I'm considering also aping horseshoe's awesome initial set-up and going with a 2-knight 2-padawan setup. what do you guys think?

I've been reading the Clone Wars IC thread from the beginning and I think taking any page out of Horse's book would be a good idea.

yeah, that's pretty much my thoughts. when I run star wars, my two questions are: "What would Lucas do?" and "What would Shoe do?"

i'll probably up the point-buy and go with levels 8 and 5. thoughts?

    Sounds like a plan.

How are you going to decide which people are the knights and which are ze padawans? A Random method could be fun.

Well, if anyone has preferences, that's fine too. Jacques can be a padawan.

I'm gonna make salt and Jacques be our padawans. Destro and Pope, you get to be their masters. sort out whom amongst yourselves.

since everyone has agreed upon their roles, all races are allowed in the core save of course Ewoks... and Gungans. fuck gungans. and rodians. nah rodians are cool. I may persecute you though.

the knights should coordinate with their padawans so you don't end up with a Force Wizard and a Thug with a Lightsaber. 34 point-buy and try to stick with Core stuff.

Are you saying that races/Force powers from the supplements aren't kosher?

I was thinking of playing either a Gand (race found in Scum and Villainy) or an Arcona, from a Planet Hoppers update on the WotC site.

I don't actually own scum and villainy so that's out... and i'm not too fond of the Arcona. and yeah probably no Force Powers from the other supplements.

I'm going to keep this as grassroots as possible I think.

EDIT: hmm, reading up more on the Arcona I think they're okay, actually. go ahead.

Since I've been on a bit of a detective-fiction kick, I think I'm going to go for either a Twi'lek or Arcona Jedi Investigator-type.

What are you thinking about going for, jc?

What I'm looking at is basically just before the Clone Wars. You've got master-padawan teams who are tasked with more and more difficult missions - i mean, the battle of Geonosis is going to happen pretty quickly, not gonna lie.

I think I'm going to have to go with the Twi'lek investigator. I had an NPC who was a master to two of the PCs in a group I was GMing. The timeframe for this game is perfect to run him as a PC.

    aye.

don't put down too much recent backstory, Jedi Knights - I'm going incorporate that sort of stuff into the in-game fluff (ie who your master was, etc)

homeworld and stuff before the most recent times is fine, though. padawans are, of course, free to write whatever they feel necessary.

Done. Let's get this show on the road. I changed him to more of a pacifist, negotiating type but eventually I think I might go toward the seer thing.
