Season 3 is set to premier on June 1st, and it's going to be epic.

Dadadada - da - da da da! Dadadada - da - da da da! Dadadada - da - da da da!

I'm sad to say that I don't own any of the DVDs, but I never felt the need to get them because I watched the reruns so many times. Is the commentary on them worth a buy?

I just talked to someone who said the commentary was well worth it, but you might want to talk to someone who's listened to it first hand.

Regardless, I'm very excited about the third season! Is dr. girlfriend... pregnant? A man? Dying? Or, more likely, something entirely unexpected.

I'm guessing alien, or possibly alien robot. Or far more likely it will be something I would never think of because that is what makes this show awesome.

I'm so glad this show is coming back...I heard rumors of a Season 3 and that a season 3 might not happen. This just increases my faith in humanity.

I heard Season 3 was going to focus less on the main Venture family and more on the supporting characters...kind of giving their life some perspective and actual history for everyone. Should be sweet.

    GO TEAM VENTURE!

Yes! Even though there are some technical issues - seems like there's only one mic, and Jackson Publick doesn't always seem to get close enough to it. If you can hear what they're saying, it's pretty funny.

Aah I saw this show for the first time over Christmas and now I'm really, really looking forward to the third season. Such fantastic writing (even though the in-jokes sometimes take over the narrative).

Due to not living in the USA, I checked this out because of the many, many Venture Brothers sigs on this board. Thank you so very much. I'm not annoyed I can't quote this with anyone over here. No one else is hip to it.

I think Adult Swim showed a brief clip from season 3 a while back where (spoilered just in case):
Dr. Henry Killinger is helping Dr. Venture restart Venture Industries. Also he actually uses his magic murder bag on a few people.

I had missed a lot of season 2 when it originally aired, so I bought the dvds for it and the first season. A lot of the shows on Adult Swim never really appealed to me that much, but Venture Bros. has always been great.

My friend has the DVDs so, I've watched them quite often. The commentary is good on some episodes, and not so good on others. It's a crap shoot.

I <3 this show. Ever since I saw the first clips of Brock pole-vaulting by using some guy's mouth.

To be fair, the first few episodes of season one are rather rocky. "Careers in Science" in particular (the first one set on the space station) is a great sleep aid. I made the mistake of popping in the DVD at a friend's house and putting it on the very first episode and he and his wife were just like :| . I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have happened with the stuff on disc 2.

    This.

come on, the entire episode is them trying to figure out why a light is blinking. That's freaking hilarious.

However, the best episode is from season 2, where Hank and Dean double-date and Phantom Limb decides to murder the Venture Brothers to impress Dr. Girlfriend and show up the Monarch.

The best episode of Venture Bros. was I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills. Dr. Henry Killinger's magic murder bag? Dr. Venture possessed by an evil Japanese spirit? Crazy lady starts reciting the SCUM manifesto? Brock and H.E.L.P.eR. getting into an argument about jock rock?

    Oh HELLS of yes.

It just really bored me. There were good jokes but the editing and the pacing were flat. The early stuff feels more like "traditional" Adult Swim cartoons, with lots of dead air and only one plot (the "A" plot). Compare to my personal favorite episode, "Victor Echo November", which is just chock full of dialogue and rapid-fire cutting between an A plot, a B plot and even a C plot (which is tough to do in twenty minutes!).

But it's all good, their learning curve was very very steep - "Home Insecurity", which came right after "Careers in Science", was like 10x better.
