Alright, so this is a game I've wanted to play since the day I knew about it, but I forgot the name of it so that kind of makes it more difficult. I saw it in a game magazine, it was a strategy guide. It's a side-scrolling arcade shooter. I believe you fly a helicopter. You fight dinosaurs and giant insects and things like that. The first level takes place in a city like New York and I think you fight a Tyrannosaurus Rex. That's really all I remember, I'm sure whatever other details I would provide would have been mixed up with another game, because it doesn't make much sense that the final boss is an alien in a big pit of lava and it turns into a top-down shooter. But maybe it is, don't know.
I've got a namethatgame that I've always thought about putting on here, but I don't have many details at all because I only played it as a wee one, so I figured nobody would ever get it. So here goes:
You played a rabbit, maybe. And you could run fast, and I think jump high. This may have been genesis or snes. To jump high you may or may not have used a spring like device.
One of the first levels had houses with straw-like roofs maybe. You could get on top of most if not all of these buildings.
Sorry this is all I've got, it's bugged me every time one of these threads pops up, and though you are all amazing at these threads, I fear my lack of details might not get this one.
Man Lewie, you just reminded me that the Tiny Toons game on Gameboy was AWESOME.
I loved playing that game... which, coincidently, I believe you could throw fruit (?) in. I distinctly remember hitting people with watermelons in that game and thinking it was hilarious.
Also, I think everyone in this thread is assuming that Ice is not talking about Sonic... right?
I have one that I've been trying to find. Upcoming MMO with a distinctive art style (believe it was cell-shaded) and gameplay mechanics. I don't believe much info was released about the game but its style reminded me a bit of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO.
This one's been itching at the back of my head for the better part of a decade now.
NES medieval-themed platformer; the only bit I really distinctly remember was running some kind of obstacle course to gain entry to/favor with the thieves' guild. I wanna say it was one of the Wizards & Warriors games, but I don't remember the protagonist in [mystery game] wearing the full plate armor seen in those.

It's Wizards & Warriors III. He changes from plate to thief clothes after you join the guild.

There's a PC game I played ages ago. The opening movie showed a king sitting at a table. In the corner of the screen, like a little picture in picture, there was a voodoo doll of the king being poked and prodded and such and the main screen showed the king's reactions. The actual game was, I think, some sort of puzzle-solving game? You had little goblin looking guys to control. It was all sprites and very cartoony looking.
Alright, I remember my brother and I playing a game for the original NES back in 92 or 94. You were a knight of some sort, and would walk along paths hitting bubbles with a sword. When you managed to hit one, it would split into smaller bubbles and you'd have to hit those too before you finally killed it completely. I remember the view being slightly top-down, and lots of green in the background, possible for grass on the ground.

Anyway, go at it!

Also, no guns, just jumping I think. You could maybe throw items.
Maybe Mr. Nutz?
Or Aero the Acrobat?
Hell, maybe Awesome Possum?
Was 'Oscar' ever ported to the Snes/Megadrive? I played it on the Amiga. One of my first ever games actually.
Edit: It was ported to the snes. Man, this game is so much more garish than I remember:
I am mostly just naming Snes/Megadrive era platformers that had rabbit-esque characters in them.

That looks a lot closer, do you have any more images? I can't seem to find any on GIS.
Definitely not Noid.
I was going to say Bubsy the Bobcat. The reason you can't GIS it is because it's "Bubsy" not "Bugsy".
Also could be Rocket Knight Adventures
Awesome job G&T. You never fail.
I think I played one of the platformers on the NES (that was brilliant) and the sports game on the Snes, which I found to be an insane amount of fun.
edit ah well
I've got Hogs of War from PS1:

Nah, it was a scrolling shooter. It might have been Rocket Knight Adventure, actually.
Oh my god, that looks awesome!
Like a dream.
A really good dream.
I used to rent this game all of the time back in the day. It was pretty awesome iirc.

1, 2, and was there a third too?

Did you collect donuts for powerups?
It's not for the Genesis and the era is Middle Ages instead of WW2, but it reminded me of Power Piggs.
Though RKA would make sense, I seem to recall most of the enemies being pigs.
