So me and my friends sometimes play some games at school through LAN, we mostly play cs 1.6 cause that runs good on old computers. Anyone know any else games such type?

if you can run CS, you can probably run Quake 3. And definitely Action Quake 2.

    Obligatory .kkreiger :)

Although I imagine you want one with multiplayer. We used to play Unreal 1 at school. IIRC it includes the best maps, too.

Hell, if you're playing CS, Unreal 2003 would probably work.

So, OP, if you couldn't tell, you're hitting on the golden era for PC FPS games. You can pretty much go with any semi-notable game and get something kickass out of the deal.

I know it's not an FPS, but I can't recommend BounceDown hard enough for same-keyboard play if it's not blocked at school. Not really amazing for single-player, but multiplayer is an absolute blast.

Quake 2 has been mentioned a few times, but it would be wrong of me not to mention Quake 1. I wasted (aka enjoyed) a large portion of my college tuition by skipping class to play Quake deathmatch on the LAN with my friends.

Gunz is fun, if not horribly unbalanced from annoying K-Stylers and Paypallers.

But if you can find a decent group to play with (good luck with that) You'll have fun. Especially at the lower ranks, a lot of my friends and I just re-roll characters to not get into the asshole zone.

I still remember my "line" on DM2. Passed both rocket launchers, the quad damage, the red armor, and one of the megahealths. I had that shit down to a science, I'd be on the next spot within a couple seconds of the powerup respawning.

Ok, this man is absolutely correct...you just need one other thing to go with this, the U4E mod. This will entertain you and your friends for ages..Comes with some coop stuff, new maps, class based models. new weapons (Like the quantum singularity generator, makes a portal that sucks shit in and crushes it). This is also the mod I'm waiting for to arrive on UT3...so uh get to it!

I'll second whoever mentioned Quake. That's what I'm playing at work currently, and I'm trying to get some LAN action on here as well.

Also, UT99 is an excellent choice. I wasted many a month playing that game.

I know of a website that has a UT inspired game working entirely with just macromedia flash. It takes some time to get going, but if you only have the internet and a computer with flash plugins, then you should be able to have some awesome fun from it. I am still a bit impressed with it.

Here ya go! It's actually really awesome once you get it going. :D

I gotta say, when you jack up the graphics and get it going, it's amazing what they have done inside of a simple web browser.
