weird health (?) tongue problem [solved]

So like, this morning I woke up normal. I took a shower and brushed my teeth. As I was spitting out the toothpaste, I noticed it was all black-like. I looked at my tongue and saw it was like, very dark, sans the taste bud things, like I had been eating a lot of black licorice or coal or something. The "blackness" kinda rubs off if I work at it, and when I spit. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary, except last night I took two Pepto-bismol tabs? And the weather has been hot lately. I feel fine. WTF?

It's the Pepto. Do a google search for Pepto Bismol black tongue.

Also, you can look forward to black poop. Those folks at Pepto-Bismol have a weird sense of humor.

If I recall correctly, there's a warning on the Pepto packaging that will tell you this stuff.

Lots of stuff can easily get stuck on your tongue. When I had gum surgery a few months back, and couldn't brush my teeth, and was bleeding a lot, I had all sorts of nastiness and blood caked on there which I brushed off later.

I've had a habit of using a tongue scraper for a while now, which is a habit I'd recommend for everyone.
