When I first bought a tablet I got the biggest one they had. It was too big. I never came close to using all that drawing space and it just took up way too much room on my desk. Later I purchased the 6x10 (or whatever) and it felt perfect. So this mean i should get the smaller cintiq right? i dunno. it turns out that the cintiq is basically a monitor you can draw on meaning I'll have to replace one of my two current monitors with the cintiq. The 12WX gets a measly 1280 800 resolution which means I will ONLY be able to use it for graphics stuff. What about when I'm not drawing? No more watching movies on one monitor and playing wow on the other.
But again I'm still a little scared to shell out all that money for the monster one just to end up realizing it's too big and unwieldy. my hope is that the size will end up being an advantage on the cintiq instead of a hindrance like on the tablet. anyone have experience with both models that can weigh in on this?
P.S. I don't think my machine can support a second vid card so a third monitor is pretty much out of the question.
I sometimes like a small dainty little tablet that bends easily beneath my enourmous stylus.
But seriously. A better question might be this. I have a two monitor setup. my machine can't go higher than that. Does anyone one know if the 12" cintiq can plug into that setup wihtout me removing one of my two existing monitors? I don't mind toggling displays on secondary monitors or anything like that. I just don't want to have to ditch an 21 inch monitor for a 12" one.
Well, I've never used the 12WX, but my 21UX is amazing. I love having all that room so I can really get my elbow into the drawing. The 12WX looks like more a scratchpad to me and would cause me to use a lot of wrist action.

I draw small whenever I actually do draw, but I think the 12" would be way too small to use nicely. I fiddled with a 21" that Wacom had set up at Emerald City Comicon and it didn't seem unwieldy
I don't know how good they are as far as monitor replacements go
