Crazy thought: might there be a chance they'll use Audiosurf for one of the levels? Sure, it's single-player, but with only 20 (or less) people, it wouldn't be inconceivable to get everyone on a PC w/the same song...

Oh, and isn't GH:World Tour for the DS?

GH: World Tour is the next console Guitar Hero (not counting Aerosmith)
GH: On Tour is the DS version.

It's the last event, so somewhere around 5pm or so.

I certainly hope soon, as I have a chance of actually getting in this year. I would love to go to Tokyo personally, and $5000 American is like 5,000,000 Yen, and everything is cheaper in Japan, so you would be able to get a whole bunch more. Heck, even being in the Omegathon would be fun. I would get murdured though. I've never been good at FPS's...

My best guess on when they will release the Omeganaut Drawing would be Late June, Early July, as it gives them time to "Prepare".

Also, do they tell you before hand what the rounds will be (except the final)? Because that would really help.

Alright cool. I would really to see some SOASE for one of the rounds (Sins of a Solar Empire for those who didn't know what SOASE was). Only problem is games can last up to 6 hours + depending on the map type. I have had a game going for 3 weeks, and im not even close to being done.

Anyways, I think that would be cool. Maybe for the final round we could bring back a classic game I can't think of right now, like one of the classic arcade games (not Pong). Maybe Asteroids (is that 2 player?)?

Yea if they don't warn you about which games and then Halo is one of them, I would be boned hard. They should just do some ol' fashion Q3A.

Only cos I'm rubbish at computer games of any/almost all descriptions, and I'll make a total nit of myself. Mind you, if one round was Jenga, 2 was draw a PA cartoon strip, and 3 gin Rummy or Snap, and maybe Guitar Hero on easy, or Rock band if i could do vocals, I might get to round 5! then everyone would laugh themselves silly as I shout at the screen and scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loudly as I die!

They really should make the final round a card game, 52 card pick up. You know that two people scrambling around knowing they are that close to some huge prize would produce two things, hilarity and injury.

Whassa longest a game of Monopoly has gone for you guys?

Me, I challenged my bro to a 1-on-1 match on a slow summer's day...ended up playing for 9 solid hours...had to quit before the game actually finished 'cause folks had guests coming over...good times.

I can recall an impossibly long 10 hour game of Risk. I love the game, but hate how long it can drone on.

Monopoly only lasts about 30-454min for me. I usually just rape everyone. Now if you want to talk long games, Axis and Allies. Longest game was 3 months playing for 8 hours a week on two nights. I felt like it was the real war due to the length.

I have no clue about any round of the Omegathon except you guys said the final round was always a game that hadn't been played before. So wouldn't it be cool if they had the next episode of their game as the last round?

The last round isn't always an unreleased game. In fact, last year was the first time they did that, and they did it with two rounds (Rock Band and Halo 3). In years before, the final round had always been a classic game (Pong, Combat, Tetris). At this point, the only constant is that the final round is a secret to everybody up until Sunday afternoon. The constant with the other rounds typically surrounds the genre (tabletop, fps, puzzle game, arcade-style, rhythm, etc). RPoD isn't really a competitive game, so it wouldn't really work in the Omegathon.

Well, for anybody who was watching the recent stream, Gabe said next month for the Omeganaut drawing. I can only imagine it will be early next month, but there's no telling at this point. And yes, we all wish we were one of them. Unfortunately only 18 of us will get our wish.

I predict Donkey Kong for the Final round, as King of Kong is becoming popular. Also, for the shooter, a possibility, though hard to work out, would be Battlefield Heroes as it's free and therefore accessible, and also new.
