Heh, despite the uber dps, I don't think I'd ever go with 0/21/40, as I wouldn't want to miss out on the imp party buff, and shadowfury for soloing. If you had to choose one, I'd say go with nether protection, however not having raided, I can't quite estimate how often you're going to get hit, multiple times in succession, by fire or shadow damage. If you get hit by one large hit every once in a while, the talent doesn't help you at all.
Even ignoring the proc thing, Backlash is a free 3% crit for some talent points you're going to spend in there anyway. Nether protection seems valuable only for PVP and Illhoof. >.>
Backlash also procs very often if you find yourself being melee'd. However Im not sure I could recommend any strategy where you should run up and melee something... I tried a 41 destro build for a week recently and while I did have lots of fun I felt though I dont have the gear for it. Ive gone back to affliction since then... Im wondering how a SM/SL build might do when I reach level 70.

This is kind of a non-sequitor question given the destro vs. affliction discussion going on here (my personal answer? Demonology, but play like you're Destro), but what sort of weapon (or weapon and off-hand) are people going into Kara with? I just got attuned earlier this week and even more recently became Revered with Keepers of Time, and right now I'm using that sword you get at Revered (forget the name, but it's +some stats, some spell hit, +121 spell damage, no +crit ), plus a random quest reward off-hand I kept so I'd have something to hold if I went with a 1-hander instead of a staff. I was using Ameer's Impulse Taser and the Battle Mage's Baton from Ring of Blood for a long time, so that sword was a welcome upgrade, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't be on the lookout for something more. Especially in the off-hand slot.

I'm using the Continuum Blade, would upgrade to Runesong Dagger or Greatsword of Horrid Dreams out of five-mans if possible. Manual of the Nethermancer offhand. WTB Nathrezim Mindblade though. When I first started Karazhan I just had the Bloodfire Greatstaff.
I finished my shadoweave set. I look like the biggest fucking scrub in town, but i have nearly 1k shadow damage with self buffs and my very own mini vampiric embrace.
Being a level 61 I'm going for a Demonology with a hint of Affliction build at the moment. Good for Leveling. My Fel guard is a fantastic tank. Its like grouping with a warrior constantly.
I had some trouble keeping up with Curator when I still had my felguard, but the stuff before him it was fine for. Just have to keep a close eye on him or sac a succubus when he'd be a real liability.
yeah.. the succy is awesome. we did an aq20 and a zg run for fun (and hakkar's heart) today, and me & succy were leading the damage chart by quite a big margin. plus.. she seems to die LESS than the FG oO
Demo needs something better.. Every demon should provide a group buff on it's own, similar to the imp's blood pact, only different effects
(A man can dream...)
But imagine, this as a deep demo talent would be pretty damn fine
So, things for my hunter are going really slowly in the high 40s right now, and I'm looking at making a warlock alt.
What would you guys say is the best for PvE soloing? I don't care much for PvP (for now), I just want to crush everything as quickly as possible in PvE. I really have no idea what build to go with; I'd like to stay away from demonology as much as possible, though, other than for Demonic Sacrifice. My hunter's already BM, so I'm looking for a nice change of pace. Sacrificing a pet for an uber buff? Yes please!
Go with Demonic Sacrifice then focus on Affliction. I had that build until I was 60 and PvE was cake. Other than that, just play what feels right and know what each of your pets does. I used Succubus most of the way after lvl 30, just for reference.

WEEEE
Int is for pansies and everoyne loves spell damage
but i look like such a fucking scrub ahhhhh
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
That is a vicious talent for a lock on lock fight.
With, of course.
(In my opinion, self buffs mean fel armor and demon out.)
I really want one but I refuse to pug Shadow Lab and apparently my guildmates only run it at fucking 3 a.m. /grumpy
In other news I get to make my shadoweave shoulders tonight. Yay!
I'll just keep the Shadoweave stuff as a novelty. I'm too far into my Eagle addiction to use them. (And Socerer in the future..)

Oh don't bother.
Murmur doesn't drop the robes. Or the sword for that matter.
Lies. I've seen him drop the sword. Once. I lost the roll.
I am guessing it is the dogs and the legend is just messed up. I only guess this since the color for the dogs is missing.
Bing 60 Warrior
Wymond 40 Rogue
Huh... Never noticed that.
Dogs is already covered by dogs chasing frisbees. It might be 'other' or 'people who can't speak english.' Or maybe pizza boys.
edit: And go with Blood Elf, undead are ugly.
Canabalize is very nice now though. Mine ticks for 750 a tick with Fel Armor up.
BEs might be pretty, but UD are just a better race for warlocks.
at once :rotate:
And don't orcs have better base stamina, whicvh is good for a lock?
I have to say, orc racials are nice. But honestly, when it comes to rolling a lock on horder, i don't think you cn go wrong.
