Mega64

Hey guys- I'm Rocco from the (arguably) comical video game show/site/abomination "Mega64." Since most of you probably don't know or care what we are, I guess can link you to http://www.mega64.com and tell you to only visit if you really thirst for trainwreck.

Anyway, as some of you may have noticed, Mega64 stuff has been available in the PA store for a little bit now. And as of today, the PAX 2007 DVD is available, which has a main feature I/we filmed and edited. I hope you guys really enjoy it- I tried to cover the little stranger things behind PAX. There's a trailer I made for it if you haven't seen it: http://www.mega64.com/paxdvd.htm

Despite all that going on, I realized there were probably still a lot of people who didn't really know what we were about, so I thought I'd just say hi and break the ice a little bit. We do some really stupid videos, but I thought maybe I'd show our latest, which is a new series of hard-hitting game industry interviews called Marcus' Corner. You can check out the first episode here: http://www.mega64.com/marcus101.htm

We're new to this whole community but we're having a good time. Hope you don't mind our presence here! Maybe we'll see you at PAX?

I watched the first MGS and Shenmue videos a few years back and stopped by your booth at Comic-con back in.... 2004 or so. Where exactly in So Cal are you guys located because the locations looked VERY familiar.

The first video I saw of yours was the Resident Evil 4 Merchant one. Watched a few and had some laughs; checked out some of your guys' stuff at PAX last year. Keep up the humorous work.

Glad to see this thread didn't turn out like Frankie's thread.

Thinking about that and the Frag Doll thread still make me laugh.

Anyway, great trailer. I'd buy the thing if I were actually there.

Yeah, the RE4 Merchant vid is probably one of the best Mega64 skit. I did like the "Good Prince, Bad Prince" one you did for the third PoP game, but I don't think a whole lot of people saw that.

Agreed. Not a huge fan, but I admire the hell out of the creativity, and the Shenmue (I can't stop calling it "Shmoo" for some reason) one in particular was great.

Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.

I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.

    Fuck you pax07 dvds!

Don't mind me, just upset the pax I went to (pax06) had video camera problems and never got a dvd set out.

like everyone else said, PM a mod and ask if this thread's ok to make, or it'll get locked.

ah, checked the site. I remembered the commercials you did for the spike awards a year or two ago, but I forgot you guys ran around acting like video game characters. good times.

Hey dude. I've met up with you guys at ComiCon the last two years I went. The shit you have set up at your booth always cracks me up.. like that wheel or whatever last year.

And I live in SD so it's always cool to see places that are pretty much identical to where I live. I've been to that ship you did Cold Fear at a few times.

the wheel of (mis?) fortune they had at their booth at PAX was funny - mostly because of how terribly unenthusiastic all 3 were about wherever the wheel landed. "oh look you get a free marker tattoo" It was perfect but perhaps unintentional deadpan.

the panel was pretty good too - I want that Jam Band DS ad up on youtube already!

Yeah, I think that deadpan just comes naturally when you have people trying to spin the wheel over and over, every day. You probably saw us on the last day, didn't you? :P

The wheel will be back at PAX this year! (And Comic Con if you plan on attending that). We'll have some more screenings and panels too.

I ran into you guys at the 2004 or 2005 Comic-Con, back when all I had seen of you was the Tetris video and one other one. The nefarious Poque convinced me to purchase your season one DVD and after watching through the whole thing I certainly do not regret it.

Keep on keepin' on. Glad you guys have found a little home in the PA store.

Yeah, he was in the SMB skit we did last year. Long story short- I found out he was going to be at GDC the same time we were, so I pitched the skit idea to the conference people and somehow it worked its way up to him, and he thought it sounded funny. It was basically just a lot of phone calls and emails.
