Unfortunately not. For those that don't know, the Rebel's Dagger you get as a reward once you complete Tortage is in the physical shape of a bow. It's quite weird having it hanging there and swinging it at people. :P
Hahaha, my buddy attacked me with this earlier today.

Anyway I will go ahead and post this guide I found on the fires of heaven board, gave me 5 frames (8600GTS):
1. Boot into safe mode
2. Uninstall Nvidia Driver
3. Run Drive Sweeper for Nvidia Display Driver.
4. Reboot into safe mode again
5. Unistall standard vga adapter driver
6. Restart normally
7. Install latest WHQL 175.16 drivers from Nvidia Website

After spending a total of about 2 hours being corpse camped by Goonsquad(aka community of assholes) for the past 3 days, I decided funcom has no idea how to protect against this. I am moving to Thog perhaps.
I was playing a Tempest of Set (priest). What class does our PA dudes on Thog need the most?

I don't think Funcom intends to "protect against" it at all. It's an FFA PvP server, and that's what you're going to get.
This is still an MMO, which means there are only certain things one should expect from it, in my view. Like the combat. It still takes its base in older MMOs. It could still be described as similar to WoWs combat.
I also haven't noticed one bug, or one crash and the game runs smooth for me so I am having a heck of a time. All MMO launches aren't all that, and it is probably not worth it if you haven't the patience to watch it grow and become more playable. I had problems with WoWs launch aswell. The servers being down all the time was a bitch. I also experienced some crashing, though that might be my comp etc. I think this is an excellent MMO.
And man, I started eating some really ridiculous slowdown today. One minute a nice 50 fps, then I freeze. Then I go.. And I freeze. Then something casts a spell, and I respawn after death. Very disheartening after a couple smooth sessions. I either screwed up a setting somewhere or ate a bad piece of computer cheese.
Does Conan encounter a fatal error every time it shuts down for anyone else? I figure my game data is slightly corrupted, hopefully the repair function can patch it back up to working order if that's what's eating it. Annoys me that it came corrupted from the bloody disk, (funcom aknowledged errors in installation on account of what I assume to be bad printing) nothing I can really do in regards to a reinstall that's likely to work out better.
Sigh. I shall investigate after work is done with me. Makes me wonder how many errors people encounter are due to fuzzy game data, though.

Totally for PVP on a FFA PVP server. But being killed, rezzing 3 seconds later, only to be killed again, now that's not balance. Now imagine a group of 5 goons, 15 levels higher than everyone in the zone. Practically farming people at a graveyard.
One group killing around the map, the other group killing people as soon as they spawn. Now imagine being stuck in this infinite loop for about 20 mins at a time.
If this is what funcom intended, than maybe my idea of fun is totally skewed.
Did they intend this?
Seriously, just thinking about this is irking me. How can this be working as intended? No rez buff, no nothing, just 15 health, and the hope that nobody is camping your ass.
Despite what I just read about an apparent lack of skills to look forward to (if that is true) I would still like to advance and see the later zones of the game and sweet armor you can get. So the question is, is the entire game fucking grass and rocks and hills or am I going to see some real cool shit?
If you're expecting the over-the-top environments and armor you would find in WoW, forget it. AoC is a lot more "down to earth" and all of the armor designs I have seen so far are pretty realistic. Being that I'm not 80 I don't know if that changes, but from what I've gathered you're going to find a more realistic setting than in most fantasy games. I love the change of pace; even the "boring" armor looks very cool to me and it doesn't look strange when it's mixed and matched.

Howard practically created Low-Fantasy. If you havn't read Howard's original Conan short stories, I recommend you do. It's not the best writing, or the most deep storytelling, but the world that Howard continually creates, its fucking amazing. The story themselves are good in the corny but awesome kind of way, like a seriously awesome B movie.
His world is based loosely on our own, which makes me love it more. Stygians are egyptian/arab, even though you can be a white stygian in AoC. Cimmerians are norsemen, and so on.
That said, it's Conan. So expect cyclopean architecture (With creepy glowy bits), deserts, more jungle, fields that may or may not have grass on them, volcanos, secret bases inside volcanos, pools of lava in strange places, Mayan ruins, Egyptian ruins, Greek ruins, unlikely looking spires, Roman ruins, stone walls in strange places with more plants growing on them, cliffs and people on spikes.
If it was ever made of stone and had vines grow on it, he put it in. Every fourth mountain contains a dead god and every tribe of flesh eating cannibals is located near something cool because only cannibals like living on giant staircases and pyramids.

WoW has pretty atrocious art even for high fantasy. CRYSTALS FUCKING EVERYWHERE. Even the fucking armor and weapons are made out of them. Burning Crusade is the epitome of poor taste.
Age of Conan is about on par with LotR:O as far as atmosphere goes, but its combat is a lot better. Both games really bring the world to life, but Conan has more robust, action-y gameplay, and PvP.
Once again, PAers on Thog, What classes are you guys looking for the most?
Not that it really matters, but if you need somethign specifically I can fill the role. Also I may be bringing a troop of 4 with me. Formerly of Fires of Heaven, currently over 10 min corpse camping.
Nothing over the top, but like, am I going to be going from detailed maps of jungles, to deserts to mountain tops, to hidden temples to upscale kingdoms, or is it going to be grass rocks grass and rocks.
Also, I'm positive it's not a virus, and when I talk about performance issues, what I mean is... I can get 40-60 fps on a scene that has loaded and is being rendered no problem. But as soon as I start taking a run, or swinging the camera around the framerate drops to nothing for seconds and seconds at a time, textures pop in and out of high/low quality and grass disappears and reappears at my feet, render passes on everything, and when you talk to an npc and the camera switches to a close up shot, you watch it render the character models in lq, then hq, then textures pop in at lq then switch to hq seconds later. Body parts and features disappearing from char models, all while stalling the framerate every several seconds.

i don't think we have many priests but we have a lot of barbs and DTs.
Here's something new. When you're in dialogue mode with an NPC, the animation glitches everytime the animation loop for the npc starts over again. I didn't notice it until now. Anyone else see that?
Is there a collective pa guild dealie on Thog? I might wander over there and beg entry, since my wow mates seem uninterested in decapitations and general cannibal stompery.
How are Priests of Mitra?
They ok to solo with along with being useful in groups?
Or are they a lesson in frustration like most healer classes at release?

For the first three days they were the most powerful class in the game bar none.
They have since been nerfed somewhat, but they seem to remain quite capable of stomping people into the ground with great dexterity.
So, I'm guessing the trial of this will be a ~30 gig download?
I can see a Tortage only style demo, in the same vein as Trial of the Isle for EQ2. Would deal with the size issue.
Don't expect it any time soon though, there's no immediate reason for Funcom to open one up as they're just trying to meet demand. From a sales perspective it's been a very successful launch.
I have to say, I see the appeal of Barbarians... but it really bothers me that they get lumped in with the rogue classes, mainly because they end up doing rogue missions which involve a whole lot of sneaking around and observing in the early levels. I'm sure beyond Tortage it doesn't matter a wit, but man... it just isn't right.
Beyond that little rant, I guess the Conqueror might just end up being my main. I keep going back to play him between trying every other alt that I keep making, plus I got the most badass name for him that is never available on any other game ever. Motherfucking Attila, bitches.
So yeah, if you see me around, let's group or get me into the guild, or something. I'll even tank.
I'm sure I'll still keep playing all the other classes here and there, but Attila the Conqueror is going places!
Granted, he was also an axe murderer, but he spent a fair amount of his time climbing walls, jumping from roof to roof, and generaly stealing things in order to provide himself with a convenient excuse to be caught in the act by a pretty lady in the hopes of tripping over a scrap of plot.

Conan, basically, did not have rules in his head.
Sounds pretty roguey to me.

I'm not sure I understand the complaints of "not looking forward to new spells". Maybe it's just me, since I played a warrior in WoW and spammed 'mortal strike' for 60 levels, but I find I have a lot more useful stuff on my bars with my barbarian in AoC.
I have no complaints with the action, I think it beats any other fantasy MMO. The game has a lot of other issues at higher levels though

It should be noted that the action beats most fantasy rpgs, period. Melee in this is way better than that in say, Oblivion.

I enjoy grinding in this game. Can't say that for any other MMO, or single player RPG's.
What are your issues at the higher levels? I'd imagine they're probably not entirely finished yet.
I'm running into more and more unfinished quests, and less quests for that matter in general as well. Itemization is crap at the moment. At level 50 I'm picking up wrist armor that is worse than the stuff I picked up at level 12. Good weapons are rare, and when you finally find something that is actually better than your stuff, it's by a tiny margin. I also look like I could be level 12, except for my wonderfully furry cloak, but other than that most people still look like clones and generics, which is ok as long as it gets better at higher levels, but I've seen no such indication.
I'm hoping to see some sort of massive patch in the next two weeks, or at least before the end of the month.
There's a lot of little issues with the game still (itemization for one, the unfinished higher level content you mention) along with the massive amount of technical problems for ATI users in particular, that all add up. Funcom has gotta do something before that first free month is up.
I do have some faith in them. They somehow turned the beta into a playable game days before release. If they can come out with another miracle patch like that, I'll be completely sold on this game.
About the itemization; it's apparent the models of all the items are in the game. You just have to look at all the NPC's in the world and you understand how funcom could claim that there would be 1500 armours in the game. However, for some reason, they're not available to the player. At least not yet.
From all previous experiences Funcom is a good company. I was a big fan of Anarchy Online back in the day, and it too was a buggy mess at launch. They made good on it. Any company that makes The Longest Journey can't be all bad.

I think the main basis of the complaint isnt so much "useful" stuff as it is "boring" stuff.
Guardian: Rogues can't touch Guardians in PVP, at all.
Conquerer: Pretty awesome. Good DPS for a supposed tank class. Tough as hell in PVP, just like the other Soldiers.
Dark Templar: Tough, very hard to kill, low DPS
Barbarian: Fun as hell. Also, fun as hell.
Assassin: A bloo, a bloo, nobody likes assassins post 40 apparently.
Ranger: Mixed, seem good in PvP. Some annoying abilities though. Be prepared to do a lot of weapon switching at early levels. Needs more hotbars!
Tempest of Set: Some have trouble, most seem to be nuking and AoEing with abandon. Can currently place unlimited AoE totems and totally waste huge groups of mobs.
Priest of Mitra: A "nerf" fixed a really high damage ability, but they're still quite soloable and very, very strong.
Bear Shaman: When played properly, Bear Shamans are really damned difficult to kill. Needs a lot of self-buffing, though.
Demonologist: Few high-damage nukes, supposedly useless pets that just kind of act as a buff.
Herald of Xotli: Melee-range glass cannons. Have seen a few played very, very well that were really good at low-level PVP.
Necromancer: everyone seems to get bored and fed up really quickly
What the hell. I have my drinking cape, and have got one ambrosia bottle (the cheapskates, saying you can only have one at a time!) but cannot figure out how to drink it. I've tried everything! Double clicking, right clicking, dragging onto my hotbar and clicking, dragging onto my character. Nothing works. GIVE ME THE DRINK DAMMIT!

Whoo, it turns out that I need a game card or a credit card to create my account, so now I have a game with €45 that I can't play. More fool me for assuming that I could access my free time without spending €30 on a game card or giving them a cc number.

Just poking fun buddy. In your defense lots of people make this mistake. But, you should have done your research first. MMO's have a sub fee, this is life.
edit: Oh wait, you post in wow forum, you know how things work.
I remember seeing a pay by cash option in the account website. Goof around there you may find a different method of payment that works for you.

Because I find that being stealthy as little as possible and running in head first is much more barbarian like and satisfying.
