The game has a retro-futuristic look to it, I really love that style. The movie Speed Racer had the same feel to it (and I suggest you all see it, even if just for the looks, it's amazing).
Wow, that looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait.
Have you seen the gameplay vids?
It's skyscraper-leaping first-person urban-ninja parkour stuff, with shooting.
After MGS4 and assuming Heavy Rain isn't coming out this year, it's my most anticipated.

Yeah, I saw that. I hadn't even heard of it before seeing that screenshot, but there's nothing I'm looking forward to more now.

Ace Combat 6:
And the Freespace 2 engine is being used for some amazing things right now:
Battlestar Galactica: Beyond The Red Line:
Just finished Assassin's Creed and that's rather pretty, too.
'Fcourse, it's one of the first games on the list that's also a bit questionable in its pedigree.
I think this is pretty self-explanatory: big-budget games got the best graphics because they had the money. That same money usually ensured a pretty decent end product. People then remember the best examples... Now that great graphics ('Hitman: Blood Money' or 'Lego Indiana Jones' great, as opposed to say, Crysis) are much more prevelant, we will probably be seeing more pretty games that are only face value.
Though of course there are contradictions. Olol DOOM3 (yay let's start an argument).
Oh, and Silent Hill 2 had pretty nice visual style:

Not the best screenshot, but I always felt that Shenmue II was very gorgeous looking, even if the engine was dated.

Most graphics that really get me are for the art design. Yeah, I loves me some pretty graphics, but it's all about the atmosphere.
Metroid Prime really pulled me into the game with its settings. Phendrana Drifts is still one of my favourite game areas ever (the music has a big hand in that, though).
I can't find a good shot for it, but Pathologic has a great atmosphere to it

From Mass Effect (lawl major spoilers, not a screenie):
The game is rightfully dinged for having some shockingly uninteresting gameplay areas, but the Citadel really makes up for it. Particularly the near-end sequence where you're rushing towards the council chambers through Geth reinforcements, with the Sathan... errr... Sovereign doing whatever it is that its doing during this sequence. Just so epic and beautiful (in a horrible kind of way).
Ever since I first played that sequence it reminded me of something, and it's taken until now for me to finally figure out what: That part of the game reminds me of Strider on the Genesis. And that is meant as a huge compliment.
I'm surprised nobody has pulled out the Total War series yet. They can be absolutely epic. These are from Medieval II: Total War, the latest in the series.

It's like they made the best game ever, and thought "What else can we do?" ... "I know, lets make they the coolest section of any JRPG ever and just stick it on the end"

It's not a new Star Fox game for the Wii.
That's how.
EDIT: Never mind. Just looked it up.
Dammit, I got all excited for a minute.

That is a crappy screen shot of the floating city.

The environment itself is a milestone.

Only played the demo, but love the art style. Just looks really great to me. Will probably pick up the full game soon.

I've played a little of the Playstation versions of both games, and think I would really dig them, but never played them to completion.
Love Munches Oddysee and Strangers Wrath.
