damn, that dragonball burst limit game looks pretty ill too. if only i was into anime so i could get super excited about these things. still though, im really loving the graphical side of things.
From Mass Effect (lawl major spoilers, not a screenie):
The game is rightfully dinged for having some shockingly uninteresting gameplay areas, but the Citadel really makes up for it. Particularly the near-end sequence where you're rushing towards the council chambers through Geth reinforcements, with the Sathan... errr... Sovereign doing whatever it is that its doing during this sequence. Just so epic and beautiful (in a horrible kind of way).
God yes. I saw it and just stared for a minute. Not to mention
using Throw or lift there was ultra fun, seeing krogans and geth fly into space.
I remember when I first heard about Raving Rabbids and thought it was going to be a new platformer about invading rabbits. I think I remember them talking about how the gameplay would be enhanced by wiimotions.

It originally was going to be a platformer. If you watch the early Wii promo videos you can see kids playing a FMV-version of it.
Then somewhere along the line they said "Holy fuck this controller is awesome! Let's make some minigames."
Shortly after Michel Ancel gave them the finger and left.
The game began development in Ubisoft's Montpellier Studio, during the later stages of making King Kong, when the developers were looking to create the "ultimate enemy" for use in the next Rayman game. The studio head Michel Ancel sketched an initial concept for a rabbit character, and from there, the idea of a mass invasion of bunnies grew. The team then began work on a traditional action adventure platformer, then tentatively called Rayman 4. However, upon receiving development kits from Nintendo, the team began focusing on implementing a wide range of gameplay types. When it became clear that these were not going to fit into a traditional platformer game, Rayman Raving Rabbids was altered to become a game consisting of separated trials. Because of this, some of the trials and concepts revealed before the game's release did not appear in the final game, such as hawk and tarantula riding. While Ancel was seen as one of the main figures behind the project before E3, he left the project after the revamp, and is only credited with character design in the final game. Raving Rabbids is currently available for the Wii, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, PC, Nintendo DS and Xbox 360.

He did? Well good for him.

I never played a Rayman game (or the Rabbids games) but the commercials are so awesome that I don't care.
If you have a Dreamcast, search out Rayman 2 for it.
If not, go for the PS2 version.
If not for that, go for the N64 version.
Then the PC version.
And finally if you can't find any of those, the PSX version.
...push coming to shove the DS version will suffice.
Out of all those, I'm eligible for the PSX version. I may get it next paycheck. Always liked the art style of the first game.
While the PSX version isn't bad, I would at least try to get the N64 version or the DC version.
Due to the limitations of the PSX hardware they had to chop up some of the longer levels into separate chunks, so you get longer loading times and less seamless gameplay.
Also of course the weaker graphics, which honestly is the best on the PSX IMHO.
Oh, but my biggest beef with the PSX version is that they added english voiceovers. All the other versions have a Animal Crossing-esque gibberish speech going for them.
But in the end, if the PSX version is your only option, do still try it out.

I totally remember that video. Watching the gameplay makes it hurt so much more...is there any chance of it coming back? Well, I mean, has there been any talk over it?

I highly doubt it. I was psyched about Rayman 4 as Rayman 3 was a bit of a disappointment over 2, but Ancel was busy with Beyond Good & Evil at the time of 3 and he was totally coming back for 4 so I was excited.
But at this point, I don't know. You definitely won't see one with the Rabbids. I'm sure Ubisoft won't let them out of minigame hell. They actually seem like cool villains if their intelligence was brought up a bit. They seem so foreboding in the above video.
As far as Rayman himself, I don't know about that either. Ubisoft may treat him like the Rabbids and just go "Rayman = Minigames" for now on.

DoD source was still pretty awesome. and the content you're talking about is the..tacked on british? i remember playing since 1.3b and the only times I felt like they strayed was when it first went retail, before source.
oh, but right, you're legendary for your bad opinions so i'll leave you mourn the loss of 3.1b

Assassin's Creed. One of the first games in my opinion to actually use something close what the current generation of technology can do.
I've been trying to forget it since November. It's beautiful and the assassinations are great, but there's not much game there. A lot of potential, but not a lot of game.
Anyway, it was mentioned once in the thread, but I think Baldur's Gate 2 could do with reiterating. It's 2D, it's isometric, and it was largely considered dated and crappy looking when it came out, but it's still wonderful to look at.
Modern hacks to increase the resolution make it stand up even better today.

The levels with the German paratrooper guns were gone last I checked, too.
Could just be that everyone played 24/7 Avalanche and whatnot, but I never saw any of my favourite levels, either.
Half the weapons are missing, I liked the British faction, and I never saw many of my favourite maps in a months play.
Good mod, sure. Not as good DoD original was at its height. I don't really "mourn" it, I don't play many shooters these days, just picked it up on impulse because I loved the original.

They did rip out a fair amount of content, but the gameplay changes in DoD : Source turned me off of the game completely. Player movement was too fast in DoD :S compared to previous iterations. Totally fucked the game up in my opinion. But that's neither here nor there.

They fucked up a good franchise.
Rayman was the pinnacle of 2D platforming in it's day.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape is still the best 3D platformer IMO, definitely the best platformer of the PSX/N64 generation.
Rayman 3 wasn't quite as good but it was still a solid game.
OH HEY LETS MAKE A GAME FULL OF MINIGAMES STARING RETARDED RABBITS THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT WAY TO FUCK OVER THIS FRANCHISE!

Ah DoD source. Take an awesome free mod, butcher it and remove 65% of the content, then charge for it!
Anyways, this game is on the psp.
Stock footage is shitty, yeah, but anyway, its pretty impressive. Moreso than plasticy UE 3 game #543545

Great game, but graphically inferior to Planescape Torment and Icewind Dale 2.
Which are some of the prettiest 2d games this side of Ogre Battle 64.
