Yeah. The harvesting system in this one is assbackwards. You can no longer rely on large groups of harvesters. It's far more efficient with 1 harvester and 1 refinery per mine.
One thing I am glad to see is that they are pussying around with anything.
What I mean is, in C&C Generals, the Chinese as a faction were completely allied with the U.S in everything. It just felt to me like the developers of the single-player campaigns went out of their way to be complete pushovers so they could sell their product to more people. In real life Generals, China would kick everyone's ass. And like it.
It looks like they are not going to hold back with the new Japan faction. I still bet political people are going to be upset about it, though. Especially this loser: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Aoki
There's little more satisfying than Chronoing an expensive navy fleet right back into your enemy's land base.
Well, also Chronoing a bunch of units on an about-to-explode chrono-bomb.
And
Enemy- "Haha! I've beat your Tanya to a pulp! Now all I have to-" Chrono Belt
Me- "No you didn't."
Enemy-" Fuck you."
on allies vs allies you can chrono the bomb back into their base
or chrono a swarm of apoc tanks out to sea, that's awesome. i imagine the look on their face as they watch 15000 credits worth of armor sink into the briny deep
Next time I go up against an imperial played who makes king Oni's, I'm going to Chrono them all onto that little patch of land off to the side with no shores, disconnected from the mainland and yell, "DO NOT WANT!"
Soviets don't have a nuke anymore...do they? And I want weather tech back!
non of the super weapons are in yet. There coming in a later patch.
But, as far as Nukes go, no. The Nukes haven't been made in this time line because Einstein died before he could invent the nuclear technology. But they do have super Reactors, which are basically Nuclear Reactors. There super weapon is called the Vacuum Bomb. It sucks up units in an area, and I believe damages buildings in the area, and then blows up all the units.
The schoolgirl is their commando unit so you only get one at a time. On the bright side Yuriko's less giggly and Hello Kitty and more frowny and Machine Girl. Unless you tag her with a Cryoshot and let loose the attack dolphins, then she's not so bad (sorry Paradox ).
The Empire's big strenths seem to be rapid expansion, ground control, punishing navy units, and high rewards for good micro. Most of their units can convert on-the-fly between two functions- i.e. the Chopper/Striker VX, which switches between an anti-infantry air unit and an anti-air ground unit. Basically, two superspecialized units in one.
Their downside is that their buildings come out as little vehicles ("eggs") that are super weak so a smart early-game mini-rush can cripple them. Plus many of their units suck at killing things they're not explicitly designed to kill. They also absolutely 100% have to build a naval yard, but they have no airfield.
They're quite fun to play. Very different from Allies and Soviets, which is I suppose the whole point.

Well now wait a minute, lets put on our horrible nerd hats for a bit. The storyline says the soviets went back in time to kill Einstein before he developed chrono technology, not anything about him being killed but just that it went horribly wrong and shit changed.
The allies quite obviously have chrono technology in RA3, which he invented. So whos to say he didn't already/go on to develop nuclear weapons? Or that the soviets found a few half compotent scientists and figured it out themselves.
Of course I may be misremembering the storyline-so-far because I just got of graveyard and I'm not asleep for some god forasken reason.
but... but Einstien had very little to do with developing nuclear weapons; that was pretty much all Oppenheimer.
I was going to post something like this (it was a bunch of people), but then I remembered it was a game with a psychic schoolgirl and armored bears. If they want to say nuclear weapons technology development went on a different timeline than our history, that's fine. Using reactors as weapons is what the German bomb project thought they had to do. Which was a hilarious clusterfuck and possibly sabotaged by Heisenberg. (The German Postal Authority was a primary backer of their bomb project, for God's sake!)

He has a sickle in one hand and is smashing a face in with a hammer held in the other. He is mounted on a warbear. The bear is standing on water.
Some good games there tonight, guys.. I am totally in love with this game.

Curse you and your projectile engineers! You'll feel the wrath of the Imperial Navy yet!
apoc tanks are great. protip: you can drag ships onto shore and blow them up with its secondary.
also re: combat engineers... load up some Shinobis and have 'em fight the engineers. it's the RA3 equivalent of a slapfight!

Fun games tonight, guys. I managed to not embarrass myself, so that's good.
Is zerg-rushing with japanese schoolgirls a viable option?
