MechWarrior II, the ATI 3D Rage CD. Just recently ripped the soundtrack from it and it is divine.
The Rayman Forever compilation. Comes with the original Rayman, Rayman Designer, and Rayman By His Fans. Of course trying to install it on XP makes AVG go nuts and start telling me I have Windows 95 viruses everywhere.
I used to have the PC version of Sonic 3D Blast, but if I recall, I either destroyed it or threw it away because it was so terrible.

I got FF7 for PC for 7 bucks, I gave it away for free when I got my ps2 and the original version.
I can't believe how rare it is.
It's rare? I still have it, and a demo disc with a preview for it.
e: I have has an original boxed copy of Grim Fandango, which is apparently also rare.
Search amazon for "ff7 PC". Yeah, I did it and was immediately sorry that I had.
woah
FUCK. My brother and I had it, but the third disc was scratched beyond repair. Might still have them somewhere, but I suspect it might've been "borrowed" years ago anyway

I found The Red Star for about 8 dollars in a local shop a few days ago which was a pleasant surprise. Not too many copies around from what I've seen. Hrm, what more am I proud of? Rings Of Power for the megadrive with an almost complete save game. And my complete sets of Wing Commander 4 and Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga. All a man could ever wish for. Ikaruga for the gamecube also, even though that version is a lot easier to come by now a days.
edit: I've developed this addiction to poor 3d gba games recently. Just bought Tony Hawks Downhill Jam just because it was 3d. Also bought Duke Nukem Advance and Big Mutha Truckers for the gba just because they're 3d on that tiny hardware. Amazing how bad the gba is at 3d and what developers despite that manages to pull.
I havn't seen it mentioned so Clive Barkers Undying/American Mcgees Alice bundle pack, Fatal Frame I & II (technically sises though), all the megaman Zeros, and the collectors editions of the X series and normal series.
Whenever the usual e-peen threads come around I tend to marvel at the sheer volume of video games and related paraphernalia that people have amassed over the years. More often than not I'm surprised that these people even manage to make the time to play all of them, never mind the amount of cash they've invested into building these collections to begin with. My collection of video games to date is comparatively small to most of these; I rarely own more than 1 current-gen system at a time, and rarely does my library for any one system exceed two dozen games.
I do, however, have a few highlights. Below are some of the more notable possessions I've acquired through about 5 years of digging through eBay and Yahoo Japan Auctions. (It ain't the size of your e-peen, but how you use it!)
First and foremost, I am a Treasure whore:
Gunstar Heroes, McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure, Dynamite Headdy, Yu Yu Hakusho Makyotoitsusen, Alien Soldier, Light Crusader, Sin & Punishment
Guardian Heroes, Silhouette Mirage, Radiant Silvergun, Bangai-O, Ikaruga DC, Mischief Makers
Astro Boy Omega Factor, Tiny Toons Scary Dreams, Advance Guardian Heroes, Gunstar Super Heroes, Bleach DS USA, Bleach DS JP, Bleach DS 2nd
Hajime no Ippo The Fighting, Dragon Drive D-Masters Shot, Ikaruga GCN, Wario World, Silpheed the Lost Planet, Stretch Panic, Gradius V, Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box
Astute observers should notice two absences in this collection: their most-recent game (waiting for the US release) and their rarest game (a little too expensive to justify purchasing in the immediate future).
Related goods:
At the top left is a collection of art by Yasushi Suzuki (artist for Sin & Punishment and Ikaruga) as well as the first issue of his graphic novel, Purgatory Kabuki. Below that are two guidebooks/artbooks for Guardian Heroes and the Dec 2005 issue of Used Game magazine, which had a 40-page cover feature on Treasure, the company and their games. Below that are two Guardian Heroes doujins. On the right side is Axialpoint, an Ikaruga fanart CD collection by Can't HUE, some preorder game case thing that came with Hajime no Ippo, and six soundtrack CDs.
Underneath all that is a Silhouette Mirage poster with autographs of both Treasure and Working Designs staff:
Say what you will about WD's localization efforts, but they put most western publishers to shame when it came to preorder bonuses and special editions.
And having been a Sega fan for more than a decade, I managed to collect a few noteworthy things on that front over the years as well:
I'm a bit of a Dragon Force nut (picture includes US Saturn release, JP-only sequel, JP-only PS2 re-release, artbook, soundtrack, and pin). Other Saturn games shown include PD Saga, Saturn Bomberman (which I won from a promotional contest at Sega.com when it was first released), The Yakyuken Special (the only strip rock-paper-scissors game to my knowledge, absolutely devoid of any merit as either a game or porn), and Segata Sanshiro Shinkenyugi. Below those are the Mega Drive version of Phantasy Star I (rumored to have had a print run as low as 1000 copies, but I doubt that's the case) next to a complete Phantasy Star IV and DC versions of Shenmue 2 (also obtained at no cost to yours truly) and Rez. On the left are some more soundtracks (F-Zero GX/AX, the 2-disc SEGAROCK collection, and the 6-disc SEGACON collection). On the right is probably my most-valuable game-related item: the Segagaga box set (the game, t-shirt, Sega console pins, and log book). The 5th anniversary soundtrack is also pictured, though that isn't officially part of this set.

I took a pic of my copies of Pools and Curse. They are a little beat up but I quite love them.
[Pool of Radiance & Curse of the Azure Bonds game pics snipped]
Amusingly, I have the Azure Bonds novel in a box within my car's trunk, with that exact same painting for its cover. I've been planning to donate it to the local library since it's been 5+ years since I last read it.
I've got original Chrono Trigger and Earthbound cartridges. For Gamecube, I've got Ikaruga, Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I also have all 7 BitGenerations games.
My prize games despite not being very rare are my copies of MOTHER1+2 and MOTHER3.
But mostly my collection is special because it belongs to me. 8-)
only thing that sits proud in my collection is this really
note: thats not my pic.
oh yeh, i used to have the Doom comic too. it came free in a games magazine once, and i promised i would give it Hotlead Junkie if i found it. if i find it...

Probably my original copy of Starflight for the pc. I don't think it's worth a hell of a lot, but it's a damn awesome game, a landmark of pc gaming in general, and very nostalgic to me.

Heres just a few things that are unique (to me, at least)
I recognize that art anywhere, the second on the left is Illusion of Gaia, the second in the "Soul Blazer" Trilogy thingy.
As for what I'm proud of, I've got Sonic CD for PC, Ikaruga, Beyond Good & Evil, Alien Hominid, and an in-the-box copy (not sealed but still have the box and everything in it) of Perfect Dark. Also have Majora's Mask with the holographic label.
What makes my collection special is that I've thrown away all my boxes and most of my manuals. Gnash your teeth! I prefer to be de-cluttered.
I have FF7 PC, still never played the game. The screen resolution hacks don't work too well, but I will give it another go to see if I can make it look less hideous.
I'm trying to think of the name of two Doom books I bought way back when. One is by Chris Klein (?) and describes how he made each level in his pretty good (at the time) megawad. The other is how to create your own Doom WADs and modifications.

Haha. I remember when I got Illusion of Gaia for the SNES way back when, it came with a T-shirt with that artwork. I wonder whatever happened to that....

I'm just noticing now that for the "GAIA" on the box art for Illusion of Gaia, they totally ripped off the font from the Zelda series, right down to the diamond-shaped inlays in the first letter.
I have a pretty shitty game collection, basically recycling stuff to pay for new stuff, passing old games onto friends.
My best item is a set of floppy discs.
I've said a few times on these forums the history with Microprose. They were based quite close to where we lived, and my dad being a software engineer (which in the 80s was extremely rare a job - more on that later) was roped in to beta test a bunch of crap.
So all those classics, Transport Tycoon, F15, all the military fighters - I got like super early.
I was probably one of the first people on Earth to play Civilization. This was back on a 386 and then later an amazing 486 PC. With a turbo button on the front! I mean fuckin hell PC gaming then was so awesome.
The keyboards were not like modern ones (Im typing this on a light, slick macbook pro keyboard - smooth) they were all clackity clack and the surface of the keys was like asphalt.
to even start the game it was a satisfying CLICK CLICK CLICK BOOM of the keys, slamming down the enter key in DOS to start it up.
So anyways I have a nice set of discs from those days. All unlabelled discs straight from the offices, civ, transport tycoon and f15 strike eagle are my favourites. this was back when sid meier worked there so it was all golden.
havent played them in years, made unreadable by the onset of new operating systems etc.
my dad is holding them in a big storage box at my parents house which includes a 20 year old IBM keyboard, a 30" CRT monitor (which I dont have to tell you was A: retardedly expensive and B: fucking enormous)
MY Dad was a beta tester for all kinds of american software giants, one of three in the UK at the time. IBM, Microsoft etc.
so I have a shitload of junk lying around from that time. super old PCs. floppy discs of all sorts, including the larger 12 inch ones, the slot loading ones. backup tapes all varieties.
as for games I got all the original copies of stuff like doom, wolfenstein, stronghold.

It was a different time back then. Everyone was flying fast and loose.
Not that it is bad now. But then, super early 90s - PC gaming was like the best thing. Beyond niche, in a realm where you knew the developers on a personal level because the industry was so small.
Now, its just essentially an extension of console gaming, only with better games.
Now that I'm home from vacation, I have a chance to photograph the majority of my favorite old PC games. These include the ones I mentioned in my last post and others that I forgot.

Seconded.
Also, I think part of the reason FF7 PC is so sought after is because of how accessible it's made all the game's components.
It's been hacked to pieces and back, probably.
Not to mention the whole 'upgrade' that's in the works based on that.
Haven't heard about that in a while, though.
ZoE2 had a second run released at gamequestdirect.com last year or so. You can get it new for like 20 bucks.
