Electrition Question

Does anyone here have any idea how much an electrition should charge me to run a 20 amp breaker and line to my bedroom. The box and breaker are about 20 feet apart. There are two empty spaces in the breaker box and the wiring runs under my house in a crawl space. I have never had any work like this done before and am just curious what I should expect.

They will either charge by the hour or by the job. Hourly rates run $50 - $150. The real question is your breaker box is up to code. If it is not then a chain or bigger company will write it up and make you get it replaced. You best bet is to find an electrician that will do this as a side job off the books. The job depending on your crawl space should not take more than couple hours.

It depends on if the electrician has to cut open the wall to get the wire in and if he is the one fixing the hole as well. Also, if your box is old enough, the breakers can be expensive. On a fairly straightforward job, I would expect to see bids around $250. As the job gets less straightforward, the price goes up.
