    I- shit.

    Want.

Might sub in that Warlord for my Insipid half-breed as our party's leader role if Incen lets me.

Edit: actually, I'm not sure if the warlord can keep the party going... he lacks healing IMO.

Eh. Tiefling Warlock fails to impress. No Inspiring Word and still with the lack luster tiefling racial powers. (Fear my +1 to hit and damage encounter power!)

Some of the strikes are nice though. Viper Strike and Wolf Pack Tactics would make the rogue happy to have this guy around.

So long as you guys try and keep to the standard mix, give or take, I don't care if you shuffle the characters.

This is mostly trying out the new system. I wouldn't stop you if you just stopped NPCs and said "Hey, hey, okay, that's nice... look just point us at the bad guys and we'll make them dead okay?"

    :P

Ah, D&D. Occasionally it's fun to just cut through all that and play in character as somebody who understands what PC's can do.

"Right, we need to stop this army. Let's go find the guy leading it and stop him."
    "Huh? How?"
    "Hero it."
    "...."

"That dragon has terrorized this land for thousands of years! How do you, a group of but five simple mortals believe you can slay him?"

"Easy, I'm going to take this axe and jam it down his throat. Then my friend here in the robe is going to set him on fire. Then my friend with the daggers is going to jam them in its eyes. All while my friend in the full plate stands in front of it and screams obscenities."

"That defies reason! Surely you go to your deaths!"

    "Whatever."

anybody online that can give me a bit of tech support for maptool, specifically using it on a campus network?

I'm, not available for a live tech support session, but look into Hamachi for VPN.

That should bypass any campus-level filtering/network idiocy they've set up.

(I work on the IT security group for a large university - our operations group at times makes non-optimal decisions.)

And It might be good to swap out the useless Warlord powers with some of the others that have already been revealed.

...what? You might want to re-download it, I'm seeing a Inspiring Word ability on the second page.

EDIT: We are talking about the Warlord, right?

    Did they change the sheet?

Apparently. As I understand it, it sounds like the first "release" of the sheet was a mistake, and left a few things off of it.

going to do a quick comparison.

That morning from the timestamps on the files in the zip archive.

I have both and they very much changed it after the fact. Though that's okay as the Warlord was pretty fucking awesome in the session I just ran.

Devout, like what? Care to tell us? What made him better than the Cleric, that people were able to shift instead of just get +2s on occasion?

In all honestly his completely shutting down the "Dragonshield Tactics" helped the fighter out a great deal. The bonus to hit and damage with action points for his just being around the place came up quite a few times as well. He never got to use his daily (and the Cleric basically said "Fuck this, we're winning this encounter" at one point by using his daily) but in general he tended to hit things which the cleric had some issues with.

Though the fighter once again underperformed. This was somewhat because he tended to not move forward enough and got left cleaning up minions.

Wait, how'd he shut down dragonshield tactics? Just by knocking them around?

Viperstrike. They could still use it but they'd just get hit in the face again so there was less reason to.

Though Deft Strike from the rogue is a hilarious response to it though.
