The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
These are pages from "Blockhead's War", a graphic novel I am working on for release in 2009.
I'd appreciate any compliments or critiques on any aspect of the art, and maybe some comments on artists whose work it reminds you of (I am always curious who I am subconsciously stealing from).
.....
You'd better hope whoever does the colour does a damn good job. The inks are lovely, but they really don't convey depth or distance at all, meaning unless the colouring does this job (which it could) the pages are very hard to read in parts.

Could you point out some of the confusing panels? I am so familiar with my work it can be tough for me to judge.
Do you have any larger file sizes? These are awesome but I can't enjoy some of the finer details of them!
If you go to my website (click the banner below) you can see these pages (with the text) at a slightly larger size. I put these up somewhat smaller so as not to overload the page.
And yes, this is a parody of Charlie Brown. Chuck Schulz will have augured himself to China by now.
I have but one question. WHERE ARE SNOOPY'S GOGGLES??
Seriously though, impressive work. I especially like the bird's eye view in the first page. The high level of detail works really well to convey the scale, and the heavy black shadows in the craters create nice focal points to tie the area together. I think it might have worked even better without the panels on top of it.
I lied before, I actually have another question. What was the thought process behind the visual style? The characters have a quality of caricature to them, with a vaguely '50s comic feel, which strikes me as slightly odd for a modern, gritty take-off on Peanuts.
Anyway, love the art so far, can't wait to see the comic in its final form.
For example.
Took me a few seconds before I even noticed the bike because it has very little black and, to my eyes anyway, blends into the background quite a lot. However i think it should be fine once coloured.
Yeah my minor crits should not be read as anything but me trying to find something wrong with it. I am unable to just type "God that's awesome". But it really does look fantastic.

I second the larger file size comment.
Also this shit is ridiculous, in a way that I love! kinda reminds me of hilary barta....but better.
spinning with AWESOME.
