Any video game attempting musicals has me interested if only through sheer rarity.
Tales of Legendia has that scene near the beginning with the town Bouncers where everybody breaks out into song. As I was watching that, I was thinking "Why can't whole games be SUNG?"

I want a game made using the Evil Dead: The Musical songs.
NIS only has one Japanese office as far as I know and yes it's in Gifu.
You gonna pay em a visit?
Nah, it's just that my Ten Year Plan For World Domination involves applying for translation/localisation work next year. Sending letters etc to particular companies will probably pay off better than waiting for them to advertise at Hello Work (the Japanese dole office).
I'm not saying that anyone's gonna give me a job, just that The Plan involves applying...
Unless they've retrofitted the combat from one of the later Marl Kingdom games onto it, that's not Rhapsody. Could this be some sort of Marl Kingdom compilation?
That's definitely Rhapsody. Same chararcters, same sprites, everything.
The only thing different is the minimap and maybe the perspective of your view of combat? Maybe not even that, it's been a while since I played the PS1 version. But the DS screen being the way it is, it makes sense to have it laid out like that.

Where's Houk?
I owe him either a stack of pancakes, or a mallet to the skull.
The PlayStation 2 is still alive and kicking. Since it is still alive, is there a chance of Ar tonelico II or Mana Khemia II making it to our shores?
JN: Those are two exciting games that we would love to work on, but we're not quite ready yet to make any announcements. Don't worry. We're not saying that these games aren't coming to the States. When the game is ready to be revealed, we will make sure to notify everyone.
In regards to downloadable content, yes, Disgaea 3 will have downloadable maps, characters, and even story chapters. This new content will be available through the PlayStation Network and it will be updated at least once a month. Please look forward to what's going to be available.
Before I can become excited about this I need to know that they're not changing anything from the original Playstation release (no cut songs, no changed voice acting, etc).

Yeah that's a bit of a worry even if I haven't played the game, the songs were awesome and through that I assume that the voicing was awesome too.

It was, but if Disgaea PSP was any indication, NIS'll probably have to redub everything.
That's not really a bad thing. It's in safe hands.
But the original voice work(especially the singing) was really good.

Rhapsody PS1 even came with a vocal soundtrack.
I hope the only major thing changed was the combat. The voices matched the characters perfectly.
A few additional dungeons and plot points wouldn't hurt though.
I recall Rhapsody had a chest that proclaimed ATLUS USA:whistle: when you opened it and also good odds of crashing the game. I look forward to meeting the updated version.

There all kinds of chests and barrels and jars and dressers and so forth that did that.
Sorry I haven't been around. For some inexplicable reason the boards don't load at work anymore, and I generally don't get online at home. Anyway, I just found out today that, also for some inexplicable reason, the NA version currently only has the Japanese songs in it with English subtitles. Once we get back from San Francisco I'm gonna ask around and see what the deal is with that.
Also I can neither confirm nor deny anything about AT2/MK2. So no pancakes/mallets for me!

Well just so you know, none of the translation/editing/NA publishing goes on in Japan. We do it all out of our SoCal office. Japan takes our text and plugs it into the game, but that's it.

But the Japanese version has both?
It can't seriously be size limitations, the game is short as heck.

There's no way they'd localize it with just Japanese dialogue.
The last game with the stones to do that was Trapt(I think).
I wonder how feasible it'd be to round up all the original singers. The English versions of the songs top the Japanese versions by quite a margin in my opinion.

That'd be pretty great if they could do that. I have no idea who the original English cast was, and thus no idea how feasible it is.

I just found the one, ok?
But wow, no english songs is kind of a dealbreaker.

Extremely. I have the original still, and will play that again before I buy this.
Of course, 1 voice in the crowd and all that... but still, if this gets the English singers, I will absolutely rebuy this game.

A musical seems good, but I often turn the sound down on portable games. Wish I didn't have to, but headphones are a pain.
btw Houk or anyone dead smart-like, do you know if NIS's offices all in Gifu-ken?
You gonna pay em a visit?
Hosnap. When is this coming out for the DS again? I sort of need it now.

I would buy TEN COPIES.
