Ocarina of Time mask help

Alright, so I feel a little bad for asking this but it's been ages since i've played this game and gamefaqs isn't helping at all, so.....

I'm doing the Happy Mask salesman sidequest. I managed to sell all of the masks with ease except for the bunny hood. Apparently there's this dude who runs around lon lon ranch or something, and for one reason or another will buy my awesome bunny hood. Great.

There's just one problem; I can't find the bastard anywhere. Not around the ranch, not around anywhere.

Game-wise i'm at the start of the Dodongo's Cavern dungeon. Haven't gotten past the part where you bomb the door because I want to get the Mask of Truth and read all of those awesome gossip stones for myself. But yeah, until I find this guy I can't do shit.

Does he not show up until I get to X point in game, or am I not looking hard enough?

Dodongo's cavern, you mean the second dungeon?

I don't think the guy has spawned yet. You basically have to get further into the game for him to appear, I think.

I could be wrong though, its been years since I've actually done that particular sidequest in OoT.

Edit - The guy spawns when you beat the third dungeon, apparently.

Yeah you have to get a bit further in the game and he'll spawn.
Best to wait for him to run to you than to chase him when the time comes because he's really fast if I rember right.

Yeah and he runs everywhere. He challenges you to a race when you are an adult, I'm not so sure he won't buy the mask from you until a few dungeons after he spawns. IDK.

Well that kinda sucks. What's the point of having the Mask of Truth if you can only use it as a kid AND after you've beaten all of the dungeons?
