well if you guys have money to burn and don't want to give it to me (dicks), there's always the hori stick.
Does this game have online play? I'm gonna guess no.
It's a shame too since SSF2THDR was just released and has great online. I wonder if it was a nintendo issue or they just didn't feel like it. Anyway I really wish developers would start putting the pressure on nintendo so that they get a good online thing going. You can't really rely on the consumer since we're sheep and buy any console with Zelda on it.
Nintendo has nothing to do with a game's online netcode.
Yeah that combo is only a touch of what is possible in this game. I love it. I'm playing Karas right now, trying to learn his corner infinite, but it's very character specific. Karas in general is fun, though.

So wait, this game does have online and the netcode is just bad? Explain.

I have to say I'm really digging Karas. His special require a good amount of timing, but he has some pretty damaging setups.
I still haven't picked my second character yet. I know Chun-li, Saki, Batsu, and that Hurricane guy are pretty good but my brothers play with those guys. I'll using Morrigan right now, she's fast and good at combos but her specials can be seen from a mile away.
I'm using a Morrigan/Karas team too, but I'm still experimenting of course. Their DHCs are fucking useless though. I'm thinking of just making two teams to mess with each with Morrigan or Karas in them.

That looks awesome, but Batsu without Hinata and Kyosuke still makes me sad.
I'm really enjoying this game. I've had it all set up for a little while now, but I wasn't allowed to play because I wanted to have a button mashing tourney with friends so we all had to go in not having played it before. I'm not too thrilled with the backgrounds or the music, but the characters look great and it plays great. Running on my Astro City for the real arcade feel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dImk1hEK_cI
I played the game at a friend's girlfriend's house. I have to say it is good (and it'll probably be better if I go there more often to get better at it) but it's not 70 dollars good. I'd like to have it at home, but I can't afford to pay that amount for it. I just hope it comes to America some day.
So I'm going to buy this. To anyone who has this already, what exactly do I need to do to my Wii to play it? I haven't updated my Wii since that one update that sped up SD cards and added the ability of the Wii to update without consent and I already have the Homebrew channel installed. Where do I go from here?
Just get Gecko OS (I think the only thing that doesn't work with it without a USB Gecko is Ocarina. But newer versions could be different, beware), and you're all set.
Oh, it sure does. When my friend's gf's brother put the disc in his Wii, it prompted an update installation. I told him "turn off the fucking console NOW."
But Gecko OS boots the game through the program, so it is likely that you won't even get it, I think.

So if I boot it through Gecko OS it won't prompt for an update, but if I just try to play it, it will try to update?

Yeah, but there is no way it will try to boot it since it's from another region (unless your Wii is Japanese, in which case it is unnecessary to worry about updating since you already have 3.4). Also, the Rebooter option of Gecko OS (which allows you to boot from the regular Wii menu with Ocarina cheats, the ability to copy uncopiable saves and other stuff) won't work on 3.4, so either way you have to boot from Gecko OS directly anyway.

Alright, so if I haven't updated to 3.4, I just have to start Gecko OS and boot it from there?
I'm just trying to make sure it will work before I drop $80.

Yeah, but 3.4 is the version that enabled faster SD card access. So if your Wii is connected to the internet, you should disable the internet connection because Nintendo can force an update when the Wii is in stand by.
If I were you, I'd try Gecko OS on my regular games first, even if they're not Japanese. You know, check out the options it offers and making sure it works without a USB Gecko.

Played this at a friends house and it is slick. I love that they put viewtiful forever as one of joes moves

Thanks for all the good info. It'll come in very handy once I scrape together enough cash to pick this up.

But I still have a lot of trouble trying to master Rock. He's too weird, but I like the character and would like to main him.
By the way, TvC does work with Gecko OS.

Shit.
That picture is in the wiki in all it's glory. I'm so glad /tears http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatsunoko_vs._Capcom
I hope they add netcode. Whoever works in Capcom legal/licenses deserves a big pat on the back.
