I find the Baroque attacks hard to perform. I activate them, and they just simply disappear before I can combo anything. It happens to me in Training and in-game.
So what's next on the "Versus Capcom" front? Do they have anything planned?
I'd want to ask what people want the next one to be, in an ideal universe, but I worry that would make this too much into a polling thread. Plus, my own answer's a bit too unrealistically fanboyish.
I'm pretty sure everyone's dream is Marvel vs. DC.
Realistically, I'm just hoping for Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

You're attacking as soon as you preform the baroque. The baroque powers up your next immediate move, be it a punch or a fireball. More than likely whats happening is you're mashing the controller, believing that the baroque didn't take. it's the same problem I had with FADCing into combos in SFIV. You just gotta do the motion and believe it'll happen.

You're supposed to activate it after you've already confirmed a combo.

Sure, but I was thinking besides the obvious ones like DC or big video game companies like Nintendo, Squeenix, or Konami. More like this Tasunoko that nobody expected.
My fanboy example, incidentally, is Whedon versus Capcom. Buffy, Willow, Angel, Spike, Mal, River, Dr. Horrible and Echo versus, Ryu, Chun Li, Morrigan, Megaman, and the more obscure choices Capcom always makes! The First as final boss! Dr. Horrible soundtrack as background music!

Gold Lightan is too cheap. You can get away with just using A repeatedly while crouching. Then his supers take away a LOT of HP. If you manage to get caught in his stomp super while he has at least 4 levels, you are boned because he can combine his level 3 super with that one.
Well, I've always thought the Vs games (outside of Capcom vs SNK) were pretty sloppy compared to the high precision of, say, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. In all actuality, you can play the game pretty easily just by button mashing. Outside of baroque attacks, you won't really see any advantage to the other techniques unless you're playing a real person who also knows about them.
But they're really fun to play with if you're playing against someone who DOES know how to use them. Which is why I hope so hard that capcom adds online play.
However, if you're looking for a more technical fighter ala SFIII or even SFIV, you're probably gonna be a little disappointed.
VS games are fairly technical, just not in the same way as SFIII or SFIV. Button mashing in 2D fighters gets you nowhere against anyone half competent at the game.
SAN MATEO, CA — June 2, 2009 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is coming to North America for the Wii™ home video game system. Capcom’s popular and critically acclaimed ‘VS’ fighting series is getting an all new next-generation introduction. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom pits Capcom’s iconic characters against Tatsunoko Productions anime superheroes. This clash of heroes face off in two-on-two battles for the ultimate 2D tag-team battle.
Originally released in Japanese arcades in the Fall of 2008, the original Tatsunoko vs. Capcom moved to the Wii console on December 11, 2008. This extraordinary fighter will blend these two rich universes by taking Capcom characters like Ryu from Street Fighter, Morrigan from Darkstalkers and the giant PTX-40A from Lost Planet and putting them against Tatsunoko fan-favorite characters from Gatchaman, Hurricane Polymar, Casshern and more. It’s a battler oyale that delivers match-ups that only exist in fans wildest dreams!
Unlike the more well-known six-button layout that the Street Fighter franchise pioneered, the VS line features a simplified four button system: “Weak”, “Medium”, “Strong” and “Assist” for the tag-team option of. The “Assist” feature adds another compelling element found Capcom’s other “VS” series: allowing players to switch their character on the fly or call for help from their tag-team partner, allowing for spectacular super moves (“Hyper Variable Combination”). Successful execution of the Assist feature can turn the tide of battle on a dime. Historically the VS series excels in integrating the tag-team options by including customized moves like Variable Assist, Snapback, and the previously mentioned Hyper Variable combination that lets both characters on one team perform their Hyper attack.
TvC enhances the above gameplay with new mechanics, including the Variable Aerial Rave that allows characters to be switched in the middle of an Aerial rave. More moves include the offensive Assault and defensive maneuver Mega Crash. Another new gameplay mechanic, titled Baroque, illuminates the character in a rainbow of colors, cancels the current attack and extends combos and damage.
Featuring a robust line-up of characters, the console version added four mini-games and optional control schemes
This “newer” version of TvC, currently dubbed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, removes one character due to licensing issues, and adds five new ones, online gameplay, more mini-games and an enhanced story mode.
Features:
• 26 fan-favorite characters from the Tatsunoko and Capcom universes face-off in this stylish 2D fighter
• Tag-team battles and customized two-character fighting techniques produce a wild, dazzling spectacle
• Wi-Fi Online gameplay allows worldwide matches
• Four battle modes include Friend, Rival, Free and Ranked Battles
• Match-ups are not restricted to just “Friends”
• Earn Points and Titles (for Title Creation) for all to see
• All-new VS gameplay mechanics creates a new way for fans to return to the series
• More than 20 Mini-game provide additional multiplayer fun
• Enhanced control schemes offer a simplified control scheme option and allow use of the Classic Controller and Gamecube Controller

Heres an interview with the director, who comfirms that there will in fact be new characters, as well as them working on making sure the online works well.
VideoGamer.com: Will there be any differences between the western version and the Japanese version?
RN: Quite a lot actually. The biggest feature would be the addition of new characters, but we will also be tweaking the design of the interfaces. We will be changing some sounds. We will be re-recording voiceovers, we will be recalibrating game balance given the responses we had from the Japanese users, obviously minor bug fixes, and we will also be changing the content of the mini-games that were in the Japanese version.

Tatsunoko - Speed Racer and Samurai Pizza Cats

The fact that Speed Racer wasn't in this from day one surprises me greatly, as for the pizza cats? My god my life would be complete, they would make the game so bad.
Hakushon Daimao sucks anyway. I'm not saying it's a bad anime character as I've never seen Yam Yam y el Genio/Bob Embotellado/The Genie Family but as a fighting character he's just too weird.

I've seen the show. He's not a good anime character either. Good riddance.
I wonder if it's the X series version of Zero, or the Zero series version of Zero. Personally, I'd be happy with either, but Zero series Zero was already in SvC Chaos.
Oh well it is actually all their own fault anyway and Capcom can't really blame me for their mistake. And somebody else will probably find it out sooner or later anyway so I might as well spoil it now.
On the new character site only a few character images are shown, but Capcom made the mistake to preload all images in a Javascript function in the HTML source. The images are not uploaded yet, but the image names reveal the new characters, one of which was already announced.

But doesn't the Baroquing character glow in different colors when it's on Baroque mode?
Setrajonas, that explains it all.

Probably some dissapointing Capcom character and a bunch of unknown super hero clones...but who knows?
Oh and GGPO code please.
Now I'm stuck with my inferior Japanese version.
Obviously all five will be from the Rival Schools cast.
(Akira, Edge, Kurow, Kyosuke, Hinata)
Capcom has done decently with the last two online fighting games they released. Hopefully this (and MvC2 of course) continue this trend.

Capcom let slip who was removed from the game, but it's no loss really.
Hakushon Daimao is the guy. He's like some genie guy from some anime I never heard of.
Fortunately we get several new characters, and I really hope they realize this game needs Speed Racer and Samurai Pizza Cats to be complete.

Since they are the same character it would also make sense.
Well other than Gold Lightan.
In fact I'm surprised they didn't add another giant character.
you guys dodged a bullet there, his english VA is horrible. ( mr pope but even worse)
