Teamwork folks. One pyro burns, another axes. TEAM Fortress 2.
Two pyros both using their flamethrowers will almost assuredly cause more damage.
yeah, especially since one will probably crit. It's a beautiful thing when 2 or more pyros work together and stay alive, as you can absolutely demolish anything, including level 3 SG's. The 2 streams of fire also confuse snipers enough for them to miss more headshots if you set your flames high enough.
EDIT for Iblis: start out being a medic, it will teach you movement and spy detection (the hard way), and everyone loves a medic. I'd also suggest some other pubbing, as PA can be a damn meatgrinder for a newbie. !TAC4 is a pretty good server. Also try to think of how you want to play, especially thinking/strategy (engy, spy, sniper, demo) vs. movement/reaction (pyro, scout, soldier etc.), as people generally fall into one category or another. Just try to pay attention and you'll learn it quickly.
Hey You, I was thinking about your cart toggle switch, and I'd love to see a pl_map which has the cart starting off neutral. There are three points for both red and blu in between the cart, and the first team to cap the opposing teams 3rd point via the cart, becomes the attackers. They must then try and push the payload to the red teams 1st.
The Axtinguisher could be hell for Heavies, though. Light up, take cover, pop back out and hack away until dead.
Most flaming targets tends to run away from Pyros in any case, making ax hits all the more useful. It's not like the normal ax was a godsend, at any rate. This just makes a typical melee weapon slightly more useful.

Sounds like as soon as everybody plays through it a couple times they'll know which way to go and never use the harder routes.
But it sounds interesting.
Switches are neutural. Meaning either team can change the cart path until the corresponding control point has been capped in order to lock in the route. So you can't just hit it once and forget about it because red could come along and switch it.
So, yes you're supposed to know the best route for offense and defense should also know the best route for them. The point is go give a secondary objective to fight over at certain points on the map (junctions).

Part of the problem with the axe is that melee crits have huge knockback, so you probably won't be able to get two consecutive hits in. It would be most useful for pounding on a heavy or something, but if he goes flying after the first hit, not so much.

Iblis: We've already mentioned this, but, starting out as medic probably isn't the best on PA because we more or less rely on them a lot, and while its always nice to have more medics, people tend to switch out of medic to play something else when they see 2 or more on already.
Tagging along with another heavy can't hurt, especially if you help him watch his blindspots and generally work as a team. And especially if you're covering the medic that is healing you guys, its all good.
Play what you want to play when you're new. Seriously nobody (who isn't dumb) cares if you're in last place getting the shit kicked out of you. If it sound fun choose it. TF2 isn't rocket science, it's not competitive CS, nobody is waiting 4 minutes to respawn because you're playing a terrible spy.
Man I was just getting the weirdest bug on goldrush. I was building teleporters and after a few seconds the exit would destroy itself. I eventually just stood there and watched it happen. It would just explode after a few seconds for no reason at all.
Why can you see the pyro's belly button through the suit? To me it seems like the guy wanted to draw some big boobs and then decided to put them on TF2 characters, instead of making female characters in the same style as TF2.
My kingdom for an artist who can make a female version of a character without making her look trampish!
There's an actual skin with that character concept, you know. Look up female scout on fpsbanana.
anyway, as to the mavers post...the hwg is not fat enough, the pyro looks blue and they're all supposed to be red, and they all look like their tits would be better weapons than anything else.

There was more to this post, but Asiina got cut off suddenly. Probably nothing to worry about, though.
Walker said the lessons the company learned about achievement design, will be rolled into the next pack, for the Pyro. "In particular," he noted, "one of the interesting things we learned is that the degree to which an achievement is earnable through general play versus specifically trying to earn an achievement is a key component to how likely customers are to game it versus earn it legitimately. This exposes how we can learn specifically from our customers from having a conversation with them about game design."

So hopefully we won't be seeing anything like the 1-million healing in a single life nonsense.
I'd be fine with that sort of nonsense- if you didn't need 100% achievements to get everything. Say, have 36 achievements and require 18 of them to get all the unlocks.
Icemopper: There's very little they can do to make achievements non-farmable.
The problem with the Pyro update is that there's going to be an achievement where you have to kill so many people by setting them alight and then them burning to death afterwards. But everyone is going to be playing Pyro, farming achievements, so unless they change Pyros to make them burn, it might not be an easy achievement to get.
Nobody do this. It was okay with medic, it really was. The kritzkrieg helps out the team. The ubersaw=more ubers, which also helps out the team.
If you go and fucking farm the achievements for the other classes it just seems unfair for the people who actually play the class. If I'm running around trying my best to get the achievements in normal play, and I see some nub swinging about the Axtinguisher because he spent a few hours farming, well that sucks.
ANGRY GLARE OF HATRED. WELP, YOU DON'T DO DAMAGE, YOU'RE NOT A REAL PERSON. Everyone is medic-racist. When I get my computer back up and running, I's gonna bonesaw some motherfuckers, and uber some fothermuckers, and then who will be laughing? I WILL, THATS WHO.
I'm genuinely surprised at how many people are looking down on the Axtinguisher. As-is, the axe is an excellent 1-vs-1 finisher. I'm going to enjoy having an axe made to specialize in it.
I hope that quote means the Pyro achievements are going to be generally more reasonable. I don't even really care if people are still able to farm them, but I'd prefer not being forced to in order to get them.
I wish valve would just stop trying to bring school-esque busy work into my vidya games. Except instead of withholding my degree they are withholding an awesome axe laced with barbed wire that I indeed sure would love play around with.

I am anything but a medic-racist! Medics are the shit! I wouldn't do nearly as well without them. The only reason I thought farming the medic achievements was okay was because, in the end, the more awesome shit the medics have, the better off the team is.
I think the problem with these unlockable weapons is that Valve has implemented them not so you can "collect them all!" kind of thing like every other game, but they're more there to reward those people who play those classes consistently
The must-have mentality is completely evident with the up-surge in medics and the whole PASMO affair (which underhands the entire idea completely but that's beside the point)
I don't have the unlockables yet because I simply don't play medic enough gather those kinds of achievements. And I'm not bothered. If someday I get into a medic mood, I'll have plenty of achievements and stuff to strive for when I do
I have already planned what I shall do in response to the updates.
Scout: Gonna find me a heavy to heal, and we'll be gods among BABIES.
Soldier: I'm honestly a bit a scared of this update. A few soldiers sending rockets my way isn't a huge deal (unless its Fat Mike, who is hugely fat), but 12 of them will be a LITTLE harder to dodge.
Pyro: Going to find me the people who mainly play pyro, and I'm going to heal them and uber them to a fiery victory. Either that or go soldier and laugh as I juggle them. LIKE BABIES.
Demoman: Yeah. Just going to stay back a few more feet from the frontlines when I heal. So many stickies.
Heavy: I will play nonstop for the first two weeks after this update. Medic Heaven.
Engineer: I will stop playing for two weeks. I swear to the twin gods that the engineer updates will suck so bad.
Spy: Going to burninate them ALL.
Sniper: Going to stabbinate them ALL. Except maybe Flippy. He gets heals, because he can make all the snipers dead, and I HATE snipers. [tiny] There is no flaw in that logic.[/tiny]
Im disappointed in the players on the servers today, Job clearly underlined his no-ruckus policy, and you guys crossed the line of ruckus tolerability. I hope for future's sake further commotions can be avoided

10,000 healing in a single life is the sort of stuff we should be seeing IMHO, since that's completely obtainable in a real game if you're good at Medic and it teaches you not to get your ass killed.
Yesterday was my single best moment in TF2 ever. Or maybe it was two days ago. Whatever.
Hydro, Sudden Death, that part with the pit. After a while of me spamming grenades through the middle our team got pushed back a bit. Not wanting to die, I ran for the pit and jumped down. I was hoping to land on the top of the tunnel down there. There was a scout already down there. So I fire a grenade as I'm about to land on the safety of the ledge and it hits the scout and kills him. The force of the explosion nudged me off the ledge and I fell 3 feet to my death.
this was my finest hour.
e: this sounds pretty terrible here but if you were there when it happened it was hilarious

Eh 10,000 seems like a bit much. Stuff like 1 million heal points though, shouldn't be an achievement

Yes I was specing that scout. It was cryohazard.
That wouldn't have been that funny if it hadn't happened within the span of like 1 second. I saw you spontaneously appear on the screen next to the scout.

This means that those who are good pyros will eventually get the achievements, through normal play, and will have something to show for it.
Those who are not good pyros will probably never get them.
Same with all the other classes.
I'm not saying that it is unfair at all, in fact, I like it more, because if you are excellent at a class, you should have something to show for it.
EDIT: Or they could be completely random and stupid achievements that everybody will get in 5 days.
