    Madness.
    This. Is. Spar. Ta!
No, no, no, no, a thousand times no.

    So. Played. Out.

The sad part is it's ingrained into my mind. Every time I use the word 'madness' I think of it.

Then, every time I use the word 'Ridiculous', I'm reminded of a Seinfeld episode.
One of my friends would pretty much use the "This is Sparta" line every god damn day for at least a month.

It's like nails on a chalkboard to me now.

    Does it cause you madness?
    Do you want to die?

    DEATH BY SPARTA!

For your insolence, Hilger, I will resurrect that meme with a furious passion.

    I wouldn't call that a "meme" so much as a catch-phrase.

The usage of the word "meme" has exploded recently, and I can't help but feel that it's a symptom of "shiny new toy" syndrome.

As a catch phrase, I feel that it reached meme levels of usage for a few months surrounding the movies release. It's no lolcat, though.

And I've been seeing the word 'meme' on the internet for years. Has it been ramping up in popularity lately? If so, where?

Well, the definition of the word meme is so all-encompassing that pretty much anything can be one.

I think certainly in this forum. I'm not a scholar of the internet, so I can't say about the overall usage levels over the past 10 years or anything. I just didn't encounter the word ever on any website or in any online games until a few months after hanging out in D&D. It could be because I wasn't reading all the threads here, but I have definitely seen the word more often in the last few months than before.

Although Cape Cod has a year-round population of about 230,000, it experiences a tourist season each summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day, as the New England cold gives way to a brief but comfortable summer. Many businesses are specifically targeted to summer visitors, and close during the 8 to 9 months of the "off season." In the late 20th century, tourists and owners of second homes began visiting the Cape more and more in the spring and fall, softening the definition of the high season and expanding it somewhat. Some particularly well-known Cape products and industries include cranberries, shellfish (particularly oysters and clams) and lobstering.

Provincetown, at the tip of Cape Cod, also berths several whale watching fleets who patrol the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Most fleets guarantee a whale sighting (mostly humpback, finback, and sei whales), and one is the only federally certified operation qualified to rescue whales. Provincetown has also long been known as an art colony, attracting writers and artists. Many hotels and resorts are friendly to or cater to gay and lesbian tourists and it is known as a gay mecca in the summer.

Cape Cod is popular for its outdoor activities like beach walking, biking, boating, fishing, go-karts, golfing, kayaking, miniature golf, and unique shopping. There are 27 public, daily-fee golf courses and 15 private courses on Cape Cod. Bed and breakfasts or vacation houses are often used for lodging.

In a way, though it would be more accurate to say that there's degradation involved.

Which sounds like it's right up your alley, actually.

Is that the show where you don't know what really happened until the very end of the show, so you find out at the last moment whether the suspect was guilty or innocent? If it's the show I'm thinking of, I actually kinda liked it. All like 3 episodes that I saw.
