Vertex shading

hey pretty quick/simple question here. Does anyone know if the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO has vertex shading? Im getting a new imac and i'd rather get the $1500 2.66 ghz one rather than spring for the $2200 dollar 3.06 ghz one, simply because the more expensive one comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS.

If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten in your presence.

Every graphics card made after the Radeon 9700, six years ago, has vertex shaders. Are you thinking of geometry shaders?

I'm pretty sure Vertex Shaders were actually in the Radeon 8000 and GeForce 3 cards.

I thought those were pixel-shader only? That was the difference between DirectX 8 and DirectX 9, unless I'm remembering things wrong.

Dx8 introduced both vertex and pixel shaders.
