Things to do in Seattle
AbsoluteZeroThe new film by Quentin KoopantinoRegistered Userregular
I'll be taking a trip to Seattle in a couple weeks, but I don't really know what there is to do out there aside from the obvious "go to the space needle stuff." So what is there to do out there? Preferably stuff that won't bust my wallet.
The Science Fiction Museum was recommended to me, apparently that is pretty neat. Also, everyone swears up and down that I have to go to Pike Place Market. So I suppose I'll be hitting those two up, at least.
Out of curiosity, I know Nintendo of America is based in Redmond. Anything interesting to do with that? Like a museum or facility tours or anything of that sort? Google hasn't yielded any answers.
There are a number of threads addressing your question over in the PAX forum. While most of that board deals with getting to/being at PAX, there are still a few that talk about Seattle in general.

Have a back-up plan in case you decide the Pike Place market blows. Some people think its really cool, but I've met some people (myself included) who were not exactly wowed. And the merchandise is not as high of quality as reputation and the vendors will lead you to believe.
Sci Fi Museum and EMP are pretty cool, though, and its hard not to have fun on the Seattle Center complex. If you are a math/science/engineering nerd, the Science Center would probably be worth your time.
If you are into baseball, you might want to check out a game at Safeco Field. It is one of the most unique stadiums in MLB - it is especially cool when they have to move the roof.
According to my Girlfriend who has worked at Nintendo as a game tester; while the Nintendo campus has alot of cool stuff their such as "museum" showing off many of Nintendo's products (they even have a Virtual Boy!) and a store with greatly discounted merchandise. But as far as I know it's not open to the public.
Read The Stranger - google it and there is an online version. It is a free weekly magazine that pretty much tells you exactly what to do in Seattle that is fun.
