Alright so here's my situation, I'm looking for ways to control my asthma (I have whats commonly referred to as Exercise-Induced Asthma, meaning it only ever acts up when I'm doing sustained cardiovascular activity, like jogging or running) and was wondering if there were any daily medicines that I could take to prevent it from happening. The reason this is important is because my career field, I intend to go into law enforcement at some point; I'm a criminal justice major at the moment (ideally something like ATF, NCIS, or similar) and they don't accept people who have asthma (well, for field agents) and can't control it. Now I do have an inhaler that I can take and use before doing cardio activity, but from my research on the internet, I may need something more, something that I take daily to prevent my asthma from ever coming up.
Now I did some research and I came up with Inhaled corticosteroids (here if your interested). Is this the type of medicine I'm looking for?
Cannot stress what Thanatos says above enough. It took me years to find the right combination of drugs to get my asthma even slightly under control. You absolutely need to see a doctor about this. I've usually found specialists (allergists) most helpful in suggesting alternatives.
