    this game is impossible to play with asiina, she always crashes the server.

    Things we learned:

    - Spawning Drivable Entities in a map not designed for them will crash the server.
    - Jon can only deal with two crashes on a weeknight.

    Are there no driving parts in ep1 at all then?

    Asiina kept spawning jalopies during the silo breach part of ep2 and it didn't crash, hm.

    ep1 has no driving parts. Drivable entities (Jalopy, Jeep, Truck, Van) cause it to crash.

    I think it kind of goes with out saying that it isn't a good idea to spawn drivable stuff when you don't need them..

    HL2 Deathmatch does come with HL2. There might be some weird stuff with those graphics card promotions from a long time ago, though.

    Yeah, you could get it for free from graphics card promos. Don't know if they're still active though.

    If you gift someone HL2 and they install HL2 then you can play this. Pretty sure you need to have HL2 installed if you want to use the coop hl2 story.

    Oh, and BTW, I discovered last night that GameServers no longer offers Synergy support.

    I guess they realized what a bandwidth and CPU hog it is.

    Actually you don't :P you can play the HL2 campaign with Synergy even if you don't own it

    I let them know that I was aware of that requirement, but they still said they were not offering hosting.

    we can still play through local servers, just not dedicated ones. I don't think anyone here has a dedicated synergy server anyway.

    Soo I cracked and ended up getting ep1&2 yesterday

    just finished ep2 now and all i have to say is

    OH EM GEE

    I'm really kinda worried how Valve is going to handle beating up the advisors. The advisors we've run into so far were actually weakened but if you remember, they were ridiculously overpowered. How we'll be realistically able to beat them, and not through some convoluted Deus ex Machina, is something I hope they implement well.

    Oh right, we had a Synergy thread. Reposting here.

    Trying to start a server to play through HL2 with my buddy, but my graphics get glitched to hell and back with some walls being transparent letting me see other parts of the level through them, the sky being fullbright and other crazy stuff.

    Episode 1 works OK though. Anyone seen this before?

    Also, doesn't Synergy support starting all the way from the start? Can't find any levels that aren't a bit into the game, like Canals for HL2 and just after the train crash in Ep1.

    d1_trainstation_01 is the first level in HL2 if I'm not mistaken.

    Make sure you have HL2 and the episodes completely installed and updated so you can mount the information.

    I can't help you on the graphics glitch, I never saw it.
