More leaked songs apparently from someone who playtested the game.
One Step Closer - Linkin Park
Peace Sells - Megadeth
Testify - Rage Against The Machine
American Woman - The Guess Who? (or Lenny Kravitz)
White Wedding - Billy Idol
You Oughta Know - Alanis Morissette
Aqua Lung - Jethro Tull
Bad Reputation - Joan Jett
We Got The Beat - The Go Go
Man in the Box - Alice in Chains
Spoon Man - Soundgarden
The last "playtester" that posted on ScoreHero was found out to be bullshitting and the one before him couldn't make any claims other than "something big will come out soon."
So, like the broken talky section in Margaritaville... "Salt! Salt! Salt!"
Thanks to Justin on neoGAF for this its originally from SA though.
first RB2 setlist info.
If this is true, my head is going to explode. Everlong, Chop Suey and Any Way You Want It ... There has been way too many amazingly awesome game announcements in the past week, and it's not even E3, so I might need to go lie down for a while.
I'd love if that Alanis Morrissette track was there. I can't really think what female acts they could get in there go balance it. Of the top of my head I can only think of:
Evanescence
Patti Smith
Garbage
Joan Jett
Paramore
Flyleaf
B52s
Go Gos
I can't stand Linkin Park. I was hoping they would stay with the Guitar Hero side so I am praying that supposed tester is bullshitting. As soon as I hear the DJ on the radio say "...and here's Linkin Park with [insert emo/sad/angry worded title]" I just flip the station.
There aren't a lot of bands I have a seething hatred for but all I see in them is an overblown band who have as much to do with Rock as Milli Vanilli do.
But they're willing to tap into that huge fanbase so I can't really shun Harmonix for just one band.
I hope those new songs are fucking real. Spoonman, Man in the Box, One Step Closer, Testify, and the first Megadeth to hit Rock Band? Coupled with Everlong, Give it Away, Chop Suey and Ace of Spades? Holy shit, it's like they're inside my head, picking my songs.
Nine songs that I've been wanting and they haven't even begun to reveal the setlist yet. My head is gonna explode.

I've become... indifferent towards Linkin Park. Before I liked them (around 99) then I hated them (00-07) then I got dragged to a concert (with Coheed and Cambria). I realized, it's not the music I hate. Music's fairly good. It's the fans.
I used to be a pretty big fan of Linkin Park, but I've mellowed out about them in recent years. Their latest album didn't do anything for me, but I do still like their older stuff.
One Step Closer is, I think, a good choice because it's a song that even a person who hates Linkin Park can enjoy. There's no rapping in it, and it's probably the best song in their line-up that sounds like a rock song as opposed to a nu-metal (or whatever the fuck people call the genre) sound they usually have.
Testify wasn't my first choice, but I'm just glad there could possibly be some Rage in my Rock Band. I guess Guerrilla Radio (my all-time favorite Rage song) was kind of a wash, since the chorus repeats "Turn that shit up" over and over again. I still wish they would work out DLC to have mature songs selections that don't censor the cursies. Also, Bombtrack could have been a really fun thing for the bassist, since it starts out with a pretty fast bass opening.

El Scorcho has a pretty big uncensored "god damn" that it even plays in the preview.
I think the censorship is from the label, not them. They get the masters that are sent to them.

I am glad for the mostly-unintrusive censoring. My friend with the game (and, more importantly, awesome projection theatre) is fairly conservative, and, while he wouldn't mind the cursing, he has young children he's worried about. My favorite song to sing, at the moment, "This Ain't a Scene," would be right out if it kept "god damn" rather than censoring it to "damn."
And yeah, we haven't been able to get "El Scorcho."
Edit: no, they do say "damn," just not "god damn." I actually think the pause sounds good in the song.
I'm pretty sure it is a collaboration between ESRB, the label, and HMX. There has been a handful of edited songs to remove curse words and/or drugs.
Off the top of my head there is Welcome Home (whore), It Hurts (bullshit, fucking), March of the Pigs (fuck), This Ain't a Scene...(god damn), Gouge Away (marijuana), and a few others.

Oh, really? Fair enough.
I remember we played the song for the first time and my friend didn't really know it, and he was skipping the 'god'. We all thought he was really religious or something.

It is pretty weird how inconsistent the censoring is, though. I didn't realized they censored "whore" in one of the songs. It's there in In Bloom, for instance.

I'm pretty sure they just take the radio edits of the songs, however they happen to be censored.
Yeah its a pretty poor list, I really could go my life without ever hearing any of the songs on that list ever again, excepting Megadeth and RATM, and even then.
The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition - Confirmed by the band for July 15th for $19.99 or 1600 MS Points.
“Amazing Journeyâ€
“Baba O'Rileyâ€
“Behind Blue Eyesâ€
“Eminence Frontâ€
“Going Mobileâ€
“Leaving Hereâ€
“My Generation†(LIVE)
“Real Good Looking Boyâ€
“Sea & Sandâ€
“Summertime Blues†(LIVE)
“Who Are Youâ€
“Young Man Blues†(LIVE)
I dunno, I find music creator pretty lame in general, it's something you dick around with for ten minutes then go back to playing the real part of the game.
Theater of Tragedy
Lacuna Coil
Nightwish
Tsunami Bomb (<3 Agent M)
Otep
The Eyeliners (Actually have some songs that would be great for Rock Band)
Paramore, obviously
There are plenty of modern (and older) "girl bands."

Yea pretty much as much as people hate the lyrics I think musically most Linkin Park songs would be fun to play.
Although as much as I love peace sells I want Holy Wars to be the Megadeth song.
Hell, Rock Band now has a severe lack of Megadeth.

You're thinking (I think) of Calm Like a Bomb, but they are both fantastic tracks.
They both open with the bassist, and they both sound fun.

Thats all I can think off of the top of my head. All of these would be fucking awesome. Though there might be better song choices.
That new little list there doesn't fill me with warm feelings, I hope it's not true. I mean, Linkin Park? Seriously? Come on people.
There's three more.
