Freak on a Leash (easiest Bass FC ever!)
All in the Family (awkward silence after every play)
No. Not after what they did to Pink Floyd. Never.
You mean actually have a pretty good cover?
If by "pretty good cover" you mean "one of the worst things to have ever been recorded", then yes.
I'm pretty sure they weren't going it with the original disco-y sound. Korn actually has a pretty good track record for covers: See also Metallica Icons concert.

Old Nightwish or New Nightwish? I mean, sure I think Amaranth could find it's way eventually but Wishmaster? Really? Can you imagine trying to sing that?
EDIT: I'd like to see more Pat Benatar (Hell is for Children). Oh hell I feel silly for forgetting them, Cranberries should be there. This maybe too pop for RB but maybe Natalie Merchant era 10,000 Maniacs and The Bangles come to mind.
Yeah, Nightwish might be pretty terrible for Rock Band. As would most of the stuff by Otep, and Theater of Tragedy. They all have a few songs that would work though. Well, save Nightwish. I'm no opera singer. Over the Hills and Far Away could be fun though....
We get it Schide. You don't like Limp Bizkit or Korn. good. Good music stopped being made in 1979.
No, popular music stopped being good in...76? I guess, about the time when disco hit. Sure, there have been plenty of good popular bands, but for the most part it's not very good. That said, there's tons of good music being made, you just have to look for it.
I hope they put some more Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult in Rock Band 2. I didn't know any of their songs before plying Guitar Hero, but now Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Godzilla, Don't Fear the Reaper, and Cities on Flame are some of my favorite songs. I need to be introduced to some more stuff by them, because apparently, I'm too lazy to go check Youtube.

Ha! Nope. I get your point though, if I haven't lived through then how would I know. Honestly tough, it's still based on my upbringing, I did grow up listening to popular music from the 80s and today, so I can at least know from that about what I don't like. Also included in my upbringing was a dad who did grow up back then and has imparted upon me the wisdom of the ages, or some shit like that. So make musical tastes are largely a result of what I listened to from his collection growing up, as well as stuff I found on my own. So I dunno, if that's laughable then make fun of me I guess. I still like to talk about music though. Or something. Now I'm rambling.

Haha, for the longest time I was really frustrated by Don't Fear The Reaper because I was like 'I recognise this from somewhere. I think it was some crappy film about aliens or something. Goddammit, now it's in my head'. And I couldn't remember what it was from.
And then I was playing it one night and I was like 'Oh. Prey.'

No, but this is relevant: Schide doesn't like Queen. I wouldn't take anything he has to say about music too seriously.
I will never look at a Korn shirt the same way after hearing that recording of pink floyd. I mean I knew I really didn't like Korn but that was the worst thing I've ever heard in my life.
What are the chances the new drumset has more cymbals or whatever, because I really want to play this Who pack but have held off buying rock band for so long. Should I just be strong and wait...because I think it would be really silly not to I just love the Who so much.
When we heard those opening notes the place went crazy. The best part was that it was a smaller venue (only about 100 people were there) and I was right in front of the stage. I got the guitarist's pick. 8-)

No, the question wasn't to imply that you'd be 'too young' or 'not informed enough' to make that distinction. You like what you like and good on you for that. But it is a bit retarded to suggest that music has been bad for 32 years. Oh, except for the tons of good stuff you have to look for... You don't have to like something, but it doesn't make it 'bad'.

So why did you ask that question? I never said music has been bad for 32 years. I said that the majority of popular music has been bad for that period. That's not the same thing at all. I'd rather not get into the "well it's not bad because it's art and tastes are different and etc." argument because I've heard that all before. Definitively defining a selection from a type of art as "bad" is a task which I could never adequately explain, so I'll just go with saying "I don't like this" and "This is terrible and sucks" and feel free to disagree with me, that's what free communication is all about.
We seriously need a different thread for "I wish xxx was in RB" and random music discussions... cause it's really annoying to sift through this thread for stuff actually related to RB :-|

Actually related to RB: where was it said/confirmed that next month would be the last DLC month for Rock Band but also have like Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd/etc in it?

I don't want this to sound like I'm yelling at you or anything, but I've seen you in this thread and the OMB thread commenting about how you don't like songs that people have recommended or suggested. You are no more of an expert on these things than I am.
However, like midgetspy, I tire of these kind of 'music nerd' arguments. And on rare occasions when I state my dissatisfaction with something, I'm always careful to include that I don't care for it personally. You are free to state your opinions, it's when these opinions are stated as facts that it gets old.
Perhaps take this as a kind suggestion to remember that there are many who do not share your view and to be careful how (or when) you make such statements.
Santa Claustrophobia: I do not agree with that line of thinking, therefore I will not adhere to it. However, I'm just going to never talk about music I don't like. That should work out well enough, I'd think. Because clearly I'm the only person who ever has anything negative to say about any music ever.

Maybe, but it would just be closed anyway.
I think Pink Floyd is one of the most overrated bands ever. Especially post Syd.
And I'm pretty sure someone posted that as joke, feels good man.

Fair enough, I was letting them go to waste anyway.

It'd work something like Tug of War., except the base song has something of a generic background to fit the instruments being played.
The game would randomly select 'chunks' to send down at you. You are scored on how well you do with each chunk.
You could also do drums vs guitar, vocals vs bass, whatever. Maybe with little spots where both of you have a freestyle section, or something.
The thing is though that HMX would have to record a lot of chunks to keep it varied and unpredictable.
edit: also wetsun = flawless victory
Now this is a good idea. Hell, I would play that solo if it was done properly.
... but that sucked.
Sorry.
