So, my wife and I are getting ready to probably move and I was wondering if anyone knew of a device similar to a bug bomb which would just disperse a smell good smell... Like bubble gum or clean linen or cotton or some such.... Some website with such devices would be appreciated....

Well, what's causing the smell? It's going to be best and mroe effective to tackle the source, rather than cover it up.
Covering up smells never really works.
I've found that carpet deodorizer (sprinkle it on and vaccum) smells wonderfully clean.

Incense sticks and candles can smell up a small apartment pretty quickly but it doesn't linger for long.

As stated, you should probably hit the source.

Here in Australia we have little smell-dispensers that dispense a nice smell every 15 minutes or whatever you set it at.

Well, we ran into a scenario where we moved into an apartment where the previoius tenants were heavy chain smokers are the walls were saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke, so it's kinda of like preparing for our next apartment, something that can saturate into those walls, and something that can leave this place here just generally better than when we moved into it....

My dad used a company once to rid his house of smoke smell. All living things, plants too, had to be removed for a couple of days because the machine they used basically sucked all of the oxygen from the house.
Carpet steam cleaners are also awesome, and should work well for your furniture. I'm sure the smell is in there after all.

EDIT: Whoops, I'm rather late on that. Below advice was for selling your current home.

If your home has an odor problem, then priority number one is finding the source of the bad smells and taking care of it. Open up all the windows and doors and let the place air out. Then, bake an apple pie or some cookies right before open house making sure to seal the place up tight once the good smells start coming out of the oven. I don't have a lot of experience moving, but I've watched a lot of HGTV programing :P .

baking soda will help soak up bad scents too, but that's not something that'll happen in an hour or two
