Pink/red noses?

This has been puzzling me.

Why do the OTRSPOD versions of Tycho, Gabe and Ann Claire all have pink/red noses?

Is everyone sunburnt in the 1920s?

If so, why is our hero of the rake blessed with an unburnt nose?

    It's... it's just artistic license.
    And it's not a sunburn.
    It's a healthy red glow.

    A little too red for my liking in some of the strips maybe. Not as noticable in the game. Sometimes it gets distracting and I say "does Gabe/Tycho have a cold?"
