So, is this Qore thing going to actually come out once a month?
If so that is even more stupid than trying to charge for it.
That is a good point. If that is a case, does that mean demos will only come out once a month? Or would you always have access to the demos if your were a sucker, um "paid subscriber"?

I didn't even consider that level of suck.
"360 users have the new XXXXXX demo. PS3 users can pay 3$ for it at the end of the month."

Another reason I dislike it. Other than PS3 exclusives, you can just get them for free on the 360, without unskippable advertisements.
Fuck you, G&T, I wasn't going to subscribe to Qore, but since you hate it I shall... and hopefully it will spur the industry to a state where everyone - Nintendo, Microsoft, EVERYONE begins to charge for demos, press releases, online logos, text messages, interactive play, peer-to-peer racism and more. I hope, one day, that through my support of this three dollar a month shill-platform that I can crush your hopes, dreams, hobbies and joy.
This is pretty awesome (not that I'm the first to say it). I'm giving serious consideration to sig'ing the bolded.
You should submit it to the awesome posts forum.
What? So SE++ can laugh at us some more? Purrrleeeze.

Yeah, it's getting a bit ridiculous... So we should just stop so they can't continue to berate everything we report as awesome.

No, you can D/L it when it hits, it's just locked from play until the next "issue."
I really can't see anything good about this. At least with past LOLSONYs, you can see where they were going, re: "racist" billboards. Yes, incredibly stupid, but you could see they were just trying a new ad campaign.
What is possibly good about paying for ads & demos?
Sony makes money twice, which is the whole basis of this endeavor.
I am trying to envision what the people who make these decisions look like. Who are these idiots, and how much are they getting paid to drive a brand into the ground?

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.
The Hunt for Red October.
What do I win?
Please let it be free demos, please!
You win one (1) Soviet nuclear powered submarine equipped with a caterpillar drive
To claim your prize you must visit the eight-ten dry dock at Norfolk, Virginia
Sweet! Wait a sec. Once I get there, and take the sub for free, after about a year or so you'll tell me that I now have to rent it and charge me $3 per month I have the sub. Damn you, damn you to hell!

Partially pay for a game you enjoyed the demo of, putting money into the console maker's pockets?
I've bought several games, none used, based entirely on the demo:
NBA 2k7
Fight Night 3
Dead Rising
Lost Planet
Crackdown
Rainbow 6 Vegas
Tomb Raider Legend
Skate
Without demos, I wouldn't have bought any of them.

Well my above quote was just a slight joke, but all those demos were free anyway. Would you have been willing to pay for the demos to play any of them if you'd heard nothing about them? Probably not.
Demos are there to test if you want a game. BUYING demos is fucking stupid.
My view could be skewed, as I haven't bought a game magazine since like 98' and downloaded like all demos since then for free, though
to the guy asking about how we get EGM for free - I've had a subscription to EGM for like 6 years now, and never paid a dime.
Honestly, I have no idea how. I signed up for one of those "free year of EGM" dealies like 6 years ago, and then again around 4 years ago, and they've just never stopped coming.

I always assumed that they cared mostly about the ad revenue.
But realistically there's no real way for them to reduce the price of the game unless it was downloadable. Maybe it sends you a coupon for $3 off at Gamestop or something, but they'd get you in the ass with all the reserving games. Then lie to you and tell you they don't have it..

Thats what I assume. Sort of like the Gillette razor business model, only with ads instead of razors.

Razors too, have you been cut by the pages of an EGM lately? Bitches hurt.
So it sounds like Qore is going to have timed exclusivity to demos and psn will get them later. (Based on broadcast and syndication anology). Kind of shitty but I guess they need to make money somehow... though if we are lucky this will fail.
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
From the outraged this stirred, it seemed like each demo you download has a price tag. But what I read was that it's $3 a month, you get the online mag and any demo it offers. Am I reading it wrong?

The insurance on that would just plain suck. The gas mileage is apt to be rather boss, mind you.

That is the general scheme, yes
Utterly devious, is it not?

but between paying for online play and getting free demos
or paying for demos and getting free online play
Well.
I prefer getting free online play and getting free demos. You know, what the PSN was supposed to provide from the beginning.
I mean I raised a rabble back when microsoft had the audacity to charge for what I was getting for free on PC

What do you get if you're not cool?
Qore, but with more ads.
I'm expecting G4 level shit.
I liked G4 when it first came out (wait... Are we talking about the TV show?) when it was TechTV.
He's supporting the man, stone him!
3po cheered up my otherwise shitty day, thanks goldenrod.
I heard Haze is gettin a 9/10.
Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
In a case of reality outshaving fantasy, the latest issue of EGM has an ad for http://gillettegameroom.com/ on the first page!
Which reminds me... I need a haircut.
Ugh.
Mine's growing into some weird hippie mullet.
I gotta do something, but I had an accident with my electric razor and am beardless.
Can't get a hair cut until I grow my beard out because I MUST HAVE SOME FORM OF HAIR ON MY FACE, DAMMIT.
