Greetings,

I just wanted to ask if anyone was familiar with a place to purchase lithographs, or original works of art related to gaming. I'm leaving the Marine corps shortly and my wife and I are moving into a new apartment where i'll actually be able to decorate something which is a change of pace. I'm trying to find colorful prints, blizzard concept art of terainn comes to mind. Nothing death or destruction related, either devoted to characters or terrain.

I've checked the valve store but haven't seen anything that clicks well to my taste, same with blizzard. PA regretfully doesn't have anything that i'd like that isn't in regular poster form.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Edit: I should point out that this is obviously my first post on the site. If this has been covered before I haven't had much luck finding the topic and have been looking through the art section, so my apologies if this belongs somewhere else or if there's already a site index for something like this.

Well, I can't help you with lithography, but as to original arts related to gaming, your best bet is to find the name of the artist (usually on the artwork itself) and try and get into contact with him, see if he owns the rights to the artwork, and if he produces prints of it.

I think, Matt Gaser did some concept art for Blizzard, you could try and get in touch with him.

Try contacting the curators of Iam8bit, a recurring show of high-end game inspired art. Looking for lithographs isn’t likely to turn up much gaming art—lithography is done using huge stones pulled on huge metal presses (which can necessitate a forklift and space to use it), so not many artists have access to the materials. You’ll be better off looking for giclee prints or “fine art prints” which are made with high-end inkjet printers. Some of the artists who do video game stuff sell it on eBay, so just keep an eye out.

Awesome. thank you both. I like the look of Matt Gaser's work, i'll see about contacting him since is store isn't up currently.

Also, Iam8bit looks interesting from what google images are around. Seems awesome. realizing what goes into lithography it didn't occur to me the cost associated with it.

    thanks for the advice.

I appreciate any more recommendations anyone has.
