I hope they only charge like 20-30$ for this because this doesn't seem like anything beyond an expansion pack.
It's been quoted for only $29.99
Which is awesome, cause you don't need the first game.
Awesome, but lame in that there will be overlap in Hard-drive space usage. I pray that there will be an option to just add it on top of normal Crysis, instead of wasting like 10gb on space that overlaps itself...
I don't think they would be able to do that with the overhaul they have done with the engine. It is supposed to run a lot better from the IGN interview.

I'd just like to say that having a 750gb HD is awesome. (Found it for 90 bucks on sale.)
EDIT: Look at the backs of the SMG.
There is clearly a goofy face there, now you wont be able to play without seeing it! MUHAHAHAHHAHA!
Fuck your goofy face. I'm never going to use those SMGs now...
Still, more Crysis is more Crysis. I don't think I can ever get enough of that game and its engine. Also, I hear the multiplayer (renamed Crysis Wars) is going to be buffed up to maximum awesome. I just hope they don't dumb down the strategic side of things.

Theres tons of fan maps for Crysis that are actually a lot of fun. I hope this is continued in Warhead.
And yeah I hope multiplayer is better now cause it was fun before but just so fucking slow it gets on the nerves. I dont know why they made the suit regen at like 1 point every minute instead of like 4 every second like in sp...
Hey great, just the game I wasn't looking forward to.
Crysis was pretty awful. Unlimited spawning koreans, shitty story.
The strength and shit is fun for like 15 minutes. Then it just becomes charging a different looking compound 50fucking times over.
hopefully this will improve, but I doubt it, Budapest is in Eastern Europe.
I'm sorry you apparently played a completely different game then everyone else in this thread.
i think his version got stuck in a loop after 15 minutes

I uh.
Yeah no they don't respawn indefinitely.
I've killed a whole map, then gone all the way back for a rocket launcher or a piece of key ammo I left behind I wanted for the next level multiple times.
When you kill the ones on the map, and their backup, they don't come back. You win, island is yours, go steal all their shit.
You can play the game fifty different ways, and I tried to show as many different playstyles as I could in my let's plays, from charging shotgunning, sneaky sniping, blow the crap out of everything with high powered weapons and a mix of it all.
Anybody who wants to know the diversity of the combat just needs to look at my Let's Play vids, I really have tried my best to make them as varied as possible. I skip some compounds entirely, because they're not necessary.
I'm not sure not leading the player by the hand is something we should be faulting. Story is shit I agree. Does its job, brooha go fuck shit up. Yes sir! Will do sir!

I don't even agree that the story sucks. It's great when you sit back and realize that all it's trying to be is a straight up action movie.
It's not literature. It does it's job is the same thing as what you just said, to me. Gets me pumped so I drive a truck through a checkpoint and blow the heads off every man in the target building.
It didn't make me think at all though.

Yeah, the story isn't great, but is it really worse than the other games people are implying that are better? Halo, CoD, gears
Nope. The first two didn't make me think either, other than wow this is some trippy shit I am running around shooting goofy aliens on. And then I stopped thinking and shot some more.
I haven't played gears though from what I hear the general consensus is chainsaw gun and awesome and not so much "Wow the intricate politcal satire of this dialogue has changed my world view! By joves!"

Yes exactly. Crysis does not make me think "Oh the aliens obviously represent humanities cold inhospitable attitude towards his fellow man!" in fact it made me think "Oh man I got an alien in a headlock and now I'm punching him in the face! AWESOME!"

The thing I didn't get is that it has everything and nobody seems to like it.
I really didn't get that, until I realised that the kind of people who want to be held by the hand don't want to wait half a game to get to it, they'll charge the installations like they do in half life 2 a bunch of times, get frustrated, and wander off.
Whereas the ones who loooooooooooooooove sandboxes will get suddenly blueballed by the hold the hand action movie segments at the end and be all man this bitch wont put out.
If they'd just switched it around somehow, people would have loved this damn game.
I really hope that's the stance they take with the expansion. I hope you go back in, punch some aliens in the face, then it clears out back into the sandboxy stuff for the end of the game.

After this do we get to play Crysis: Crackhead? Cuz seriously Psycho looks like he just snorted in that pic and is gonna go pistol whip his step child.

The problem is that the sandboxes weren't quite sandboxy enough (Farcry 2 looks like a nice solution to this), and the alien sections were completely, utterly mediocre in every possible way and didn't live up to other games that were all about that sort of thing.
actually I really liked the inside of the ship. It just was so pretty
and you could choke aliens
also, I'm a sucker for snowy landscapes, so I had a smile on my face when I exited the mothership to see the island frozen. ALSO, I didn't mind the flying bit at all.
In hindsight, the only thing I actually did dislike was that the game felt slightly more on rails than previously.

I loved Crysis
I still love Crysis
I am doing a Delta run right now using bullets as little as possible.
Speed run out of the bushes, grab an enemy and just run into the woods with him, dispose of him, reposition, repeat. When there are few enough just go strength mode and beat the rest to death.

Weren't quite sandboxy enough as compared to what.
A lot of people say this, to which I must ask. If you know a sandboxy game with combat better than Crysis, for the love of god tell me. I'd really love to play it.
Don't hold out on me. It doesn't hold up, so there must be something better. I want to know what that game is. It's next on my buy list.
The alien sections were more impressive and jawdropping to me than halo one and two. I haven't played halo 3, and I haven't played gears. Maybe there's some awesome sections in there I missed?

Halo 3 had an alien ship level.
It was called 'Cortana'.
I completed it on legendary. It was not a good level. You did not miss anything. In fact I feel worse for having experienced it.
I'm getting crysis as soon as I can stretch to a new PC. Just from watching gameplay videos I can tell I am going to have a fucking blast with this game.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who discovered how to really enjoy Crysis.
My favourite moment however, was during night time, when I had alerted the digsite base and they sent out two search and destroy groups after me, and I hid in the dark woods with my sniper rifle. That was 100% predator for me. Took them out one and one , and they could never see me. . It was just so cinematic to see them fire in panic in the dark while I worked the sniper rifle.

Silencer is full of win.
Also fun to walk up behind a patrol and execute each and every one with a pistol shot to the back of the skull, last one first, while seeing their buddies walk on oblivious to your presence.
Even Rambo moments can have stealthy moments. Shoot at someone, they beeline to your location, speed run about 70 yards to their flank behind cover, kill another, they beeline to the new location, rinse/repeat.
It turns into a clusterfuck since they never know where you're shooting them from.
Call me old fashioned (and perhaps a cheater) but I love the bullet time and third person mod. So much fun to just kick it into super strength during bullet time and leap into the air to take out 5 guys, then land in speed mode and dodge bullets while running up to the last guys and taking them down with punches and chokes.
I am going to have to try this bullettime mod. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to duel wield pistols. I hate duel wielding pistols for some reason, and I got drop the second pistol but then would lose ammo, and pistol ammo was a rare commodity.
Everything else was remarkably awesome though. I can't wait for warhead
Indeed, no game has ever made me feel so much like the Predator... not even AvP
I spent most of the game just dropping in and out of stealth, hit and run... That, plus the all of the amazing emergent gameplay... Crysis was glorious, and not just because of the graphics.

Sorry to just butt into this thread, but wasn't it announced somewhere that Warhead will be taking place duirng the time Psycho was split up from the main char? But I just can't remember where that was, I suspect that it would have been before the shit hit the fan, so we get to kill more koreans, but can't remember.
