Seriously - Australia and the UK should be lumped in with the USA.

How do people like Blizzard as a company?

    Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo.

Love them almost as much as Zelda, Mario, and Metroid.
Okay, then how do you like those games?

I like this thread because I can ask and not feel bad since it's the point of the thread.

And I like responding to these posts because Goomba, I know your sincerely curious (at least I hope you are). Anyway, here we go:

    1. The lore. This is a big one for me, I absolutely love all the backstory plugged into every game that Blizzard makes from the orc race's redemption after partaking in the blood of demons to how the terran race's origin is really due to the screw-up of a massive navigation computer.

    2. The games polish. I don't particularly like RTSes but Starcraft and Warcraft are so near perfection I can't help but love to play them, even if I suck horribly at them. Also, WoW and Diablo are good, straight-up RPG fun.

    3. The Easter Eggs. There is no cow level, the Tenacious Defender, baw ram ewe, and many others are stuff I love finding and helps remind me that Blizzard isn't taking their games too seriously since it is a game.

    4. The art and design style. For some reason Warcraft and Starcraft can take stuff that would be fairly generic in any fantasy or Sci-fi setting, like an ancient powerful race of beings or dragons or the staple "we are many, evil, and we will consume everything in the universe ragh!" Sci-fi species, but can twist all that and make them a creation of their own. Also the style of the characters is great fun to look at and I always love a sense of style in the art of games I play, for some reason super-realism is a real turn-off for me (unless it's a half-life game, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms).

Why didn't Katamari end up on the Wii?
...I know it was kinda' dead, but the controls woulda' been perfect for it.

People say this, and I just don't see it. Are you supposed to point to where you want to go? Or tilt the controller ala Super Monkey Ball?

I saw "bah" to both. Now, Katamari on the DS would have been sex, but I don't think the DS has enough under the hood to run it.

Supposedly, your Wiimote+Nunchuk (or going Samba de Amigo style: Two Wiimotes) would act as the Prince's hands... you'd constantly be making the gestures the Prince makes when he rolls the Katamari.

A sort-of sliding-up-and-down-motion while tilting the Wiimote+Nunchuk (or two wiimotes) diagonally in order to change its direction.

Why is it that any time someone says "RPG," it's always taken to mean "JRPG?"

Because to many, JRPGs are the only ones that were mass-produced so much, that's the only thing you'd see on a shelf.

The unresponsive mess that is Wii Sports Boxing leaves me hoping they never make Punch-Out!! for the Wii.

Imagine if they had multiple control schemes. Like, at the most basic, you could use the wiimote turned sideways for classic punchout action.

Or you could use a wiimote + nunchuck with wii boxing controls.

Or you could use two wiimotes for slightly improved controls.

or you could use two wiimotes and a wii balance board for perfect controls.

The GC controller would end up being the best however they would give it a horrible control scheme that you couldn't edit in an attempt to make it balanced.
