guys i'm selling prints of much of my stuff, you can find out about it here if you're at all interested:

Uh, define 'prints'? -- Giclee, or litho, or 'printed out on nice paper'? Limited? Signed and numbered? etc.

Your stuff is great, by the way! I like.

printed out on high quality cardstock. no limit as of right now because i'm selling them so cheap
but they will be signed on the back

    thanks :D

beavo why are you using the "old" version of the fox chasing bunny print? didn't you move the bunny farther forward and add flowers on the left side?

because i would maybe want to buy that one and i prefer it the "new" way if that is feasible

i hope i do not sound too presumptuous or anything

the print version is the new way with the bunny further away from the fox, sorry i should update that on my deviantart.

So I'm working on a really cool project with Slacktron (fellow PA forumer) called "A through Zombie"
which is basically going to be like an old fashioned kid's abc book with a "how to survive the zombie apocalypse" theme
it is more than a little fun to draw for.
    here's "f"
crits much appreciated on these ones duders, so have at it

    cooool!

my only real crit is that the "F" for fire does not seem to be tied in with the rest of the text, the border of the square acts as a separator

possible fixes: move the F over? an ellipsis after it, leading it into the black?

    projeck: potentially, yes thanks!
orik: yeah i'm going to play around quite a bit with text placement as i'm not entirely happy with it either
any suggestions you guys have would be muuuuch appreciated
when i moved the f over into the space with the rest of the text i find it broke up the flow a lot

grrrgggle i might try changing the font? or pushing the "is for fire" closer to the border so it flows better with the "f"

i think actually moving it further away and adding a black ellipsis (...) would help

the cursive is pretty hard to read, though

I'mma try just changing up the font completely

if you all have good font suggestions, throw them at me, i'm playing trial and error right now on dafont.

alternatively, you could move the whole block of text over so that it crosses the separator of the illustration's edge and leads into the black space

what font is that right now? is it already monotype corsiva because that's usually my go-to script font

i think that the colour of the font might be the problem, actually, try the colour of the buildings instead?

beavotran, i think you have some cool ideas and good instincts but maybe you are focusing too much on the colors and composition and not enough time on your linework. some of your lines appear to be very black and more-or-less convex/concave.

but if you stick to it i think you have the potential to one day be really good and maybe get a job working for a game design company with the way things are looking!

ps i was freebasing the other day and thought you were inside my teeth

I can't tell you how much I appreciate unique zombie/horror related artwork. Just to put that comment in perspective I submit the following; the college I attended for four years, the Art Institute of Boston, has had huge influx of zombie related artwork by the present senior class. Like, I mean a lot. Most of which has been instigated by one individual whose charisma happens to appeal to the lowest common denominator, which sadly seems to be the current student body. Nothing but of a body of lame, seemingly talentless artwork, revolving around undead cannibalism at its worst. Its all pretty dull to say the least, and uninspired to the point of embarrassment even though I'm no longer there.

I am filled with exuberance, Madam Beavo, and spilling over with joy to see somebody making an attempt to incorporate the presently laughable zombie genre into their artwork in a delightfully innovative, and affective way. And you, Ma'am, have done just that. You truly are a credit to your North American continent's wood gnawing populace.

How did i miss these! I agree with Buck- its so refreshing to see a new twist on the zombie theme. If this was a book, I WOULD BUY IT!!

Tam brought up the hair thing- which is the only real issue I have with it. Although I kinda wish maybe I saw a bit of francis's face. And maybe the "Francis finds...fickle friend" text could be a little smaller- it feels a little cramped.

Other than that- buy yourself a cookie :)

So sometime this morning I decided that the zombies were going to be hipster zombies.
    Here's G:
    a-zombie_g3.png

also 2 other possible text placements under the spoiler:
    a-zombie_g1.png
    a-zombie_g2.png

as always, tell me what you think, which of the three text placements you prefer, some other placement i didn't try or you know...crits in general :D<3

I marginally like the split-level placement better than the others.

"Gateway" is confusing to me though. Was it a gateway for Geoffrey? The visual is kinda confusing me because he's already across and kicking it down.
Is it a gateway in the ironic sense that it's not really because he's going to kick it down when some zombies climb aboard?

I think "getaway" rather than "gateway" would fit better.

    Just some thoughts.

Beav, I love the linework you've got going on the buildings in this one - total Looney Toons backgrounds.

I think the first text placement is the most successful, but I can see where Tam's split-level comment is coming from.

I would add the "..." after the G and decide wither you end in a full stop or not- just for consistency sake.
