Even though the game came out around September 2007, you may have only recently heard about this little gem of a Worms game through the demo on the Nintendo Channel.
Or perhaps even on this forum.
Well, no matter. The point is we're starting some portable Worms fighting right now! If you don't have the game,
it's only $10 new on Gamestop.com. For those of you in Canada, Future Shop and Toys R Us have it for $20, and if you're lucky, you can find it cheaper elsewhere.
And don't be thinking just because you have some other Worms game(s) that you can skip on this one. No, this game has been described has "less like “Another good Worms game,” and more like a definitive compilation for fans that also happens to be portable" in the IGN review, and yeah, it's pretty damn good. Single player puzzle and campaign modes, single DS hot-seat style multiplayer, single card multiplayer, multi card multiplayer, online multiplayer, modes exclusive to the DS version....just face it: This game is PACKED FULL OF GOODIES for the price being asked. For the rookies out there, it comes with tutorials to help you get acquainted.
So let's blow up some worms!.....and sheep too!

Important question:
Does it have the Concrete Donkey?
I MUST KNOW!
This game...was fantastic. I had so much fun with friends on this. Rope/jet pack races are awesome amounts of fun.

Man i totally forgot about this game..its been so long!
Anyway just a heads up, anyone who wants to pick up this game, it's only 10 dollars at Gamestop's gamedays sale.
I knew it was around for the PSP but not my loveable DS
Bought whenever I find a copy
"Both versions of Open Warfare 2 trade in the familiar kind of crisp, cheery cartoon look that has been with the series for years now, though like the original Open Warfare, the PSP version wins by virtue of a bigger screen, whose horizontal orientation is simply a better fit for your usual Worms level layout. The controls feel fine on both versions, which means that if you can overlook the somewhat confining screen size on the DS, you'll still have some fun." -GameSpot
ok it is a tiny bit slower, but no where near as bad as i remember...insignificantly so in fact. wonder why i hated it so much .. could be because i have a sticky square button that made backflips frustrating and i didnt test the online now...maybe that was it..- anyway, im going to change my first post
I got pretty annoyed at the online mode though. I usually only put on Worms for a quick 15ish min match to kill time, but some of the matches I played online went over a fucking hour because of goddamn girder-shielding/girder-blocking-in. Some people just slowed the game down to a crawl and it got extremely tedious...
BUT! With PAers this can only be awesome
Single player is also surprisingly good. You still come across the occassional worm who has unbelievable accracy, but overall its a much more balanced affair if you're any good.
I just impulse ordered it. Now I've got to find my DS before it gets to my house.
Anyone know how many codes can be stored?

I'm nearly done single player, and haven't really tried any online except for one random match just now. I surprised myself with some of the strategies I came up with, even though I lost. As if blow-torching an enemy worm into an oil crate wasn't enough, try getting pinned between two enemy worms with almost no room to escape. Start it up with a Sentry Gun so that the enemy worms can't move to attack you, then follow it up with an escape to higher ground followed by sending down the Sheep!
As late as it is, I'm up for a round or two if anyone's interested.

While I'm here, is there a widely considered weapon scheme for any/every Worms game out there?
