Looking for body weights (ankle, wrist, chest) but can't seem to find any that aren't hugely bulky. Can anyone recommend some decent sets that aren't huge?
These things are bad for your joints and provide very little training advantage. You're much better off combining cardio with weight training.
That's what I was getting at, but it depends on what he's using them for. I use leg weights to add resistance for my handbalancing. That's about it. Any kind of dynamic motions or exercises with these, especially wearing them on the ankles or wrists, does cause more problems than benefits.

Yeah and that makes sense but that's a very niche thing to use them for. Most people are using them for stupid, horrible things that will wreck important parts of their bodies given enough time.

Those things are bulky by nature because they are filled with sand, which is relatively light for it's volume. Other things like lead or steel bars could be used, but since they wouldn't conform they would be less comfortable.
Generally, adding weight in the manner that most people use these things does more damage to joints than any benefit it does for muscle. Like running with ankle weights would be colossally stupid. I guess if you were doing tai chi or something it wouldn't be that bad.
