The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
The mods made it pretty interesting too, especially the larger ones like the Freelancer Rebalance mod.
I could never find a decent server
I also didn't have any friends who were playing it
I had a friend who played it. He was all "Outcasts are the best they are awesome," and I was all "Fuck no check out these Corsairs and this goddamn Titan holy shit what the fuck."
One-on-one engagements were pretty interesting in multiplayer. The best tactic was to shut off your engine and use the thruster as your only source of propulsion.
There were a few scary moments in FEAR. Especially one point where I was just jiving along some dank dark tunnel and that fucking girl pops out of nowhere all crawling towards me. I nearly threw my mouse off the table in shock.
And shit, the firefights in FEAR were awesome. I especially enjoyed all the chatter from the enemies.

Moriveth - agreed.
Raiden and Liu Kang were the best in MK1. Never played any other.
So can we agree that Stryker was pretty much the worst Mortal Kombat character
okay maybe Mokap was bad too
whippy looooves stryker
also, they brought him back in MK: armageddon
I never played it but I've heard that stryker is actually decent
and that sub-zero is actually not very good
I'm actually terrible at fighting games so I never play 'em but I love the characters, particularly in the MK games
The thing that bugs me about Armageddon is that they got rid of the Fatalities for fucking 'make your own fatality', which is nowhere near as cool as actual fatalities.
Is Carmageddon 2 underappreciated? I don't even know. It's a fun game though.
And if I might say so myself, it's pretty impressive what they did with it. The cars had a great damage system which allowed you to really squash them up, and if you managed to smash a car into a sharp corner, it would split in fucking half. I'm still impressed by that, as you can split them in almost any way. Split it front from back, split it left from right, shit, even split it top from bottom. The point of splittage could be anwhere.
That, and the pedestrians were like proto-ragdolls. You could knock off limbs, push the bodies around and everything.
The powerups were also great fun. My favourite was the repulsificator that pushes opponents of pedestrians away with a giant spring.
And you could drive a massive 30+ ton dump truck.
Recently, I played through it with my cousin and it's still all hells of fun.
I'm not going to lie: I played and actually enjoyed Ubersoldier. I mean come on, you could create a shield that would catch bullets and shoot them back at enemies! How can you hate a game that allows you to do that?

Oh man, did anyone play Evil Twin? I had to import the euro version for DC but I think it came out on some other console here in the states later. Not sure, anyway it was freaking amazing. I might actually play through that one again soon.

I didn't even know what the fuck and avitar was until about 5 minutes ago.
oh man I knew some bad fucking warriors.. if you knew what you were doin g the warrior is the absolute msot deadly class there is.
Wizards are pretty beastly too I knew some badass trap combos
Fireball, Teleport Fireball
fireball in a trap would shoot int he direction the cursor was in when you cast the trap
so put your trap mid hallway put your cursor against the wall, bitches would get teleported against the wall, and get slammed by two fireballs. You could do the same thing with nlightning.
my favorite thing to do was a conjuror though.. use that faerie spell and have 4 of those rock throwing chimp things, or wasps.. they were small and low hp but in 4s they are deadly

Man when I got my Dreamcast I yearned to play Le Mans 24 Hours. A game that gives you a full 24 hour race with shifting day/night cycles and weather oh god yesssss.
It sounded so damned fantastic but no store around me would ever have it in stock because who wants to race for 24 hours and eventually my parents convinced me to sell the DC if I wanted a new system.
But man if I ever got one again that game would be top priority.
The best part was when it got ported to the PS2 wayyy later and ended up looking and sounding worse than the DC version; a point I routinely brought up among the DC haters at school.

that's an easy argument to win
point to any game on the PS2
then point to Skies of Arcadia
game over
I mean the game itself sucked dick but at least it was pretty
shit that game could come out now and the worst people might say is that the graphics are just okay

Wait, seriously, any PS2 game? So, like, God Of War 2?
One game that I think was underrated was Out Of This World. I think it just didn't really get the exposure it deserved. It was an absolutely brilliant puzzle/platformer. Short, but it avoided repetition and thus every moment was gold.

I mean, Bo Rai Cho. A guy who farts and I think he barfs on people. What.

Smoke's fatality was blowing up the entire world
Cyrax's was blowing himself and the enemy up
Kabal inflates the head of the enemy and they fly up until they explode
yo

It's probably one of my favourite racers ever.
it had Iron Maiden in the soundtrack
Satans..... hints.....
DARK VOID
HOLY SHIT
LOOK FOR IT RIGHT NOW
Basically I can't play shmups anymore because I get so disappointed when they're not Tyrian.
cutthroat island performed laughably bad in the box office
but the SNES game was actually pretty fun
best pc game ever. Hands down.
I don't want it! I just need it! To breath, to feel, to know I'm alive!
they really screwed the pooch with the demo on that game though
you could only do multiplayer, and could only play a summoner
the thing was, though, that playing a summoner online is the only thing anybody wanted to do with it at all
Wizards are pretty beastly too I knew some badass trap combos

fallout is not at all underappreciated
it is on every right-minded list of great RPGs
hell yeah
even though I prefer BF vietnam
im talking about the masses
pyshconauts is loved by lots of people but it is under appreciated
i could say the same about fallout

the sprite-based stuff can be beautiful
odin sphere, for example
