I'm pretty sure with the money they paid Microsoft will make an exception to the 250mb rule

I thought MS paid them to keep it exclusive. And now that I think about it. I'm sure MS could give a fuck how big the DLC is, since they funded it. I just don't want to have to download gigabytes of stuff.

GTA4 "sequels" will be downloadable? How does that work, with the size cap on DLC? I know a lot of the disc is the engine and all that, but a lot of it is voice acting, music, and textures, which are high res these days. That's not going to meet the 250mb (?) restraint. I'm aware that the DLC will not be a huge 40 hour epic game like GTA4 was, but with the limits that are on it, the most we can hope for is a game the size of Bohan.
I don't think these limits exist; you're thinking of Arcade games. Two recent GRAW packs, for example, were 1 GB each. Pretty sure the Oblivion expansion was 2.4 GB or thereabouts.

You got me. I'm recalling now that I got some stuff for Army of Two (I think) that was like 750mb or some crap. So yeah, looks like GTA4 will have whatever it wants, no matter what. I feel better, kinda.

I hope they don't go for the crazy customisation that some people are demanding, after having it in GTA IV. Yes, more clothing options would be good, but that's really about it. Having him in cut-scenes with a giant, rainbow-coloured afro and clown shoes would not be a good move. Similarly, jetpacks and fighter jets, while cool, would not fit the game at all.

That's why you have a choice to dress like that. No one is saying you absolutely have to make your character look like a ridiculous mess, but just beause you don't want it doesn't mean other people wont. That's why I like games like SA and to an extent Dead Rising, because you could look serious and play the game, or put on children's clothing and people wouldn't react to it, making it hilarious.

There is no cap. Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion was nearly a Gig, there's also large expansions for many other games on Xbox Live. The cap only applies to Live Arcade Games, and even then can be broken when developers request it.

It doesn't actually need a comma. Double check it with a word processor with grammar checking. The comma is actually bad grammar. If you actually read the sentence there can be no mistake that it implies that Microsoft paid Rockstar for the DLC exclusivity, not vice versa.

Jesus, seriously. If ever there was a dead wrong time to use a semicolon, that would be it. It doesn't need any punctuation except the apostrophe in I'm and the period at the end. If there was a 'they' after Microsoft, then it would imply tube thought rockstar paid microsoft. As it is, it reads perfectly grammatically and correctly identifies that it was microsoft who paid, not microsoft who was paid.

    GAHH!!

I've got a feeling I did actually notice a mistake once, but I can't remember what it was.
Now that I've completed the game, I'm just going through and doing Brucie's races and Stevie's car thefts, although whenever I call Brucie for a race now, he says there aren't any. I've not had any alerts to say I've completed all his races, but I've tried from every island and he keeps saying there's none more left. Do they just finish, or is there something I'm not doing?

Brucie gives you a call to let you know once you've won all the races, like after you win the last race he gives you a call to congratulate you for having a genetically engorged penis or whatever but even after that you can still call him to do the races again. I never figured out exactly what dictated whether or not he had a race available - time of day, location you call him from perhaps? Not really sure.

I'm at the same place with Brucie. I just gave it up and did the most wanted missions. I have maybe 2 or 3 races left to do, and he refuses to tell me where to go. Pushing it to the max, indeed.

The biggest flaws I found with the game were

    a. it's too long
    b. the last mission is poorly designed
    c. the replay mission function should give you the armour and weapons you started with to cut down on tedium

    edit

    d) Replay storyline should also give you the clothes you had in the last game.

Nothing would beat getting off the boat in a smooth perseus suit, ready to pwn people.

Yeah, I'm still stealing Stevie's cars, but now I'm just doing the Most Wanted missions too. Brucie's called me a few times to say he's got some more races, I do maybe one, then he says he's all out. I've tried being on each of the islands, and that chump still refuses to give me more. I know I'm late to the party, but Cardboard Tube for president of GTA! Seriously, the idea of a replay mission option is wonderful, but what good is it if I'll usually just end up reloading my game before my mission attempt since I've: a. lost money from dying, b. wasted a bunch of ammo, and/or c. am not prepared physically (body armor/health) to replay the mission. I used the replay feature a few times, but as I get farther in the game, I find I'd rather just load my last save most of the time.

I found myself using San Andreas's trip skip far more often than GTA4's replay mission feature.

As far as subtitles, I've noticed sometimes they don't quite match up with the dialog, but that's not uncommon in games. And it's completely understandable considering the game's script must have taken up a warehouse.

Aye... it's crazy to think, but this game had more dialog, more hours of voice acting, and more people working on it (it seems from the end of game credits) than an entire year's worth of movies.

I think Dwayne's friendship bonus is the best one.

On the mission where you protect/escort the guy who is giving a speech at City Hall, I got to the part where you're pinned down in an alley way when I realized, i'd better call my boys. They came, drove through the barrier, helped clean up the guys on the roof, and then we all got into a car and shot at the Russians as they chased us. It was an awesome moment.
