We've got it covered I think. I already have 100 troops on the way with another 80 swordsmen waiting to join. But feel free to get in on our looting if you want. If you send from 43:11 right now it will arrive around the time of my 103 troops which also left from 43:11

Matt says that each reinforcing attack is allowed it's own pillage, and that it only counts as one attack for the purposes of the bashing rule.

I've asked for clarification, because this means you could pillage a single city 30 times a day.

Only 30? If I have an inactive on my island where I have 2 cities with 5 action points each, I could hit him 10 times an hour and have it count once.

This only works if they have troops defending so that you reinforce instead of just starting to loot immediatly.

My final attack @ JoyVille has just been sent. That makes 103 + 84 Total troops I've sent that will all be landing in almost exactly 2 hours. Meant to send my final wave earlier, but all my tradeships got tied up from a target that has been filling 19 of them with wood/marble/wine for a day or two now. That makes like 160 Swordsmen with varied other troops from me along with whatever you guys sent against his 121 Archers. I think we win.

But that's what happened in my case. I shipped all my units out so there wouldn't be a battle, since I knew he'd cream me anyway.

Well I've never been on the recieving end of a gang bang, but when administering one, if there are defenders I get one log entry and X loots whearas if there are no defenders I get X log entries and X loots.

Something got screwed up in my case, because there was 2 combat log entries and 3 pillages.

Maybe it had to do with my lone surviving archer returning from my failed attack on his city.

How difficult is this for a new player to pick up on?

Wurm, while vaguely entertaining in a sandbox-game fashion, is not fulfilling my primal desire to destroy stuff.

Assuming I RTFM and such, can a new player create a town and join the aforementioned pillaging and plundering within a reasonable timeframe?

You could probably start pillaging inactives in, a week or so? If you find a nice one with little or no military, that is. Less if it's on your island or an adjoining island.

It's pretty damn easy, all in all.

It's actually interesting because there's a ton of people I could wipe out (probably 90% of other cities) but fewer would be worth the effort to a guy my size. But to a newbie player those cities make great targets since your standards are lower on how much gold/loot you need to progress.

Edit: Yea, ask Mith or Hoz if they can transfer their accs to you.

You can be pillaging the weak fools on your own island within hours; the large-scale pillaging and plundering can be joined within a couple of weeks if you focus on developing in that direction.

If your city is anywhere near one of mine, I can provide all the sulfur you want for more mans.

Edit: Plus, you have a helpful team of compatriots ready to offer advice and assistance, not always conflicting.

Wine is also very important for early game pillaging since all the units you build take away from your population, which grows rather slowly early game without some research.

Skarsol could you please advise if you can find out all the towns belonging to a scamp called Nharrier / Harlem of 30:19? I raided him a month back and he clearly hasn't forgiven me and has sent a large fleet of 130 ships to visit.

I've got a nice surprise for him due in about 8 hours when 160 ships of mine will visit him but I'd like to know where he is all over so I can systemically reduce him

    Harlem 30:19
    The Bronx 29:19
    Manhatten 29:20

Hmm, Shishe of 94/64 is apparently revenge blockading me or something. 24 ships from a city with a level 1 shipyard. His military is improved from when I hit him (he had 4 phalanx then), but it seems to center around 10 gryocopters. If the battle calc is remotely right this should be fun.

Yea. Turn around. Mind you you're still free to hit JoyTown...which my spy report 2sec. ago said 16 Archers and No ships, but I think it says No Ships because my fleet is still in his port. The final round of combat left him with 13 Rams, which are going to be hit by my 20 rams. So don't attack unless you'll hit in more than 1h 40m + battle time.

So far, I've never been attacked, and have mostly attacked inactives, though also a few "living" ones (though, I've never gotten a complaint or "why me?"). There are some good targets nearby, but I certainly recommend sticking to inactives until you get your feet wet.

Don't mind at all... as I said, don't have the time to play this, and one way or the other, I was going to get rid of it... If someone takes it, that's better that my just letting it die or get deleted.

Let me find out what needs to be done to transfer the account "properly." Although I'm all for an improper transfer if needed.

Gotcha. I imagine that Greasemonkey script that was pointed out will highlight them as Insert Army Here in the list of potential targets.
