Something odd has been happening with my internet connection lately. Every 10 minutes or so I have to repair the connection (network connections>find the right one>hit repair) so that I can view new web sites while browsing.
What makes this odd I guess is that my chat clients and anything else that would need a constant connection isn't affected by this need to reconnect. Online games for example, can be played constantly with no interruption.
Anyone have an idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?
I'm guessing it's some sort of DNS issue if it is, since your don't lose connection to things that have already resolved and established a connection (Games, IM Clients) as opposed to the rather dynamic querying of a website.

i'd recommend using OpenDNS as an alternative. when Comcast recently had DNS issues, i switched over to OpenDNS and have been happy since. web pages seem to load just a teeny bit faster.
the OpenDNS site has good instructions on how to implement their DNS server settings on your local PC and/or router.
Charter is another ISP like Time Warner/Road Runner/Earthlink.
Go into your router and change the DNS from automatic to :
Primary: 208.67.222.222
Secondary: 208.67.220.220
These are the OpenDNS name-servers. I second the recommendation to use them in place of the TWC name-servers. They're shakey at best sometimes.
However, if you have a router and it's doing this (repair connection), then it may be time for a new router. I recommend Netgear, as they've been good to me. However Linksys is also very good.

All have been restarted and reset. This problem is happening with my roommates' computer which is connected wirelessly to the router.
Do you have Charter?
I'm having the same issues, and it's a DNS issue with Charter and home routers. They're "working" on it.
