Just fair warning about the tropes site: Like Wikipedia, it will suck away your time.
I can't quote all of you who need to hear this, but you know who you are. Thanks a lot jerks. I just spent the last hour reading TV Tropes, and I don't know why.
Actually, thanks a lot. This will come in handy when I need to kill time at work.
Also, does anyone have a screenshot of the butterfly in the intro to Persona 3 (or access to one)? I would, if possible, like pictures of the butterflies from all of the Persona intros. I know it's asking for a lot, but I couldn't find anything when I searched earlier.

Here's the one from the P3/FES opening:
I can probably find the ones from P1 & P2 via youtube or something.
Because of this thread I ordered P3:FES on blind faith. It showed up today. I popped it in to play it for just a minute before my planned run through of MGS. That minute turned into four and a half hours.
Yeah it'll do that to you, i'm trying very hard to gt the regular game finished ASAP so i can go back to sleeping at night in RL instead of grinding in Tartarus
How do rare chests work? Is there a small chance of them appearing anywhere you might find a briefcase, or do they only appear in set locations?
There's a small % chance of them appearing instead of a normal chest on any given floor.
Very rarely, you will find a unique floor which can be one of the following (to my recollection):
- More monsters than normal
- No monsters and double to triple chests
- All gold shadows
If you're looking for a specific item from a rare chest though, floor can matter. Many of the rare katana quests you get in FES are typically found only in a certain level range.

Yeah, I was asking because of the rare katana quest from just before the vacation. I found it, was unceremoniously one-shotted by an enemy shortly after, and was forced to go over that area again, this time finding Beast Leggings instead of the Katana I needed.
Is it just me or are there a lot of similarities between Persona 3 and The World Ends With You? The concept of there being two worlds sharing the same space (The RG/UG and the world inside of The Dark Hour), the Shadows and the Noise, some of the characters and their interactions (Junpei's character reminds me of Beat, and in 2D he vaguely resembles Sho Minamimoto... not so much in 3D).

Also, both have awesome (if differently styled) soundtracks. Plus the importance and prominence of Japanese culture.

I think I've been to that blog before...

I wish they'd announce Imagine but that's as likely as me walking out the door right now and tripping over a jack frost
...well now I want a pet Jack Frost. Thanks a lot, Lanz.
To be fair, I kind of suspect I always have a want for a pet Jack Frost, in the back of my mind. You just brought it out.
I do too!
I would like to see everything in cj's wishlist come to fruition. I've been watching Trinity Soul as it airs, but it's just not the same as having it professionally translated. I also don't dig translations that force me to read a paragraph of explanatory notes because they felt the need to explain what a certain Japanese dish or custom is. I don't need the recipe, and if I do need the recipe I will look it up.
Thankfully, we've got some eyes and ears on the scene. I don't think we can get live updates, but at least we'll know what they talked about.
In order of awesome I would like to see Atlus confirm for SMT:
1) Shin Megami Tensei 4 - PS3 (I am not kidding)
2) Persona 4 US
3) Trinity Soul US
4) Persona PSP, completely retranslated
I wonder, can we get our eyes and ears to bring up Imagine? :V
Atlus already answered a question about that on their board a long time ago('we don't have experience in the MMO field'), but they have been looking for staff familiar with the genre... it'd be a good question to ask.
That'd fall probably at 6) on the priority list, if only because I'm reluctant to let an MMO devour my life.
You know the weirdest cross-internet culture ref I've seen had to either be the 2chan Mascot in La Pucelle or 4Chan's Delicious Cake Meme being referenced in Kanokon.
Good to see the 2 halves start to meet, but am I the only one afraid that 2chan+4chan would end up destroying the Earth on accident somehow?
Anyway. Answer question:
After opening up the time gate to the mall, do I eventually gain the ability to make weapons at the store?

Also, is it normal to
be getting my ass totally handed to me
Cause seriously, fucking... OW. Level 38 and just about to take on the second boss, the last time I fought him at 34/35 he smacked me into the ground. The lack of random Snuff Souls appearing in chests is hurting too.

What about making weapons? Possible in Answer? What about Heart Items? Combo Skills?

I don't think you can make weapons in the Answer...
Heart items are there.
I think there are Fusion skills, but I'm not totally positive.

Did they have all the same VAs return?

This Time It's Persona³l!
I picked this up at Anime Expo, and it's damn hilarious. It even has a...reference...to Penny-Arcade. ;-)
Also, this:

But first and foremost, it's win for this:
That's no sun, that's a F.O.E!
Also, updated the OP with better pictures of Naoto and Rise(arguable, but the new one's higher quality at least).
Guessing a possible P4 domestic release announcement?

And Imagine would.
We're obviously getting Persona 4, so meh there.

It's not necessary, though it's a good place to pick up some of the best gifts for the female S-Links.
