Man, this compression ability sounds just too good. But backburner and and extra fifty health sounds just awesome.
Plus once you get the axetinguisher, any fool who turns around gets a face full of crits.

Because setting someone on fire and then axing them is one shotting.

But yeah, once the inital fervor to get the guns dies down, there won't be many tandem pyros going on. Same thing that happened with the tandem medic uber bs.

But yeah, I don't burn some stupid fucker just to get an assist. It happens often anyway, but I WANT the kill.

Besides, this back burner seems like it'd be a hell of a lot more useful than an axe that doesn't do much unless the target is already burning.

a pyro can get many opportunities to melee someone, and as long as they are on fire you can crit them, which will just about kill anyone.

I don't see how this is bad?

you geta weapon that is made for ambushes!

I don't see why this axe is a bad thing, heres what you do: put them on fire and instantly switch in like .5 seconds, insta crit.

The problem is switching the weapons, which can easily lead to you being dead

I'm not saying it's bad, I will probably use it, but I don't think it's flat out better than the regular fireaxe

Yeah, if anything, the new flamethrower is considerably more powerful, and since it's how we've been playing anyway, it doesn't even have any drawbacks

the thing is, pyros don't melee so much to the point where your meleeing people who are right in front of you without them being on fire. that normally only happens when you are just screwing around.

switching weapons is actually very quick too. i'm not kidding when I say .5 seconds, plus they are on fire for a long time.

between the flare gun, other pyros, and your own flamethrower, IMO this is way better than the normal axe.

I'm talking about actual gameplay btw, using this to your advantage, not just running around with an axe frantically hitting everything around you.

I still only have 7 medic achievements, but at least with everyone playing Pyro I'll have a better chance of getting some of those. I do like how a lot of the new Pyro achievements don't seem to be "Do X while teammate Y is doing Z in one life" or even "Do X in one life" heavy as the medic ones seem to be.

I'm not really that good at medic, was dead last on my classes played until today, but I wanted to try out some of the new toys. I'll get some more medic practice while everyone is playing Pyro for sure. I still have to get the Autoclave and Infernal Medicine achievements, which should be pretty easy in the coming weeks.

This is an important question, do you get another bite at the cherry or do you extinguish the flame with your first axe swing?

You're probably thinking of files that are TF2 only. There's a bunch more that is shared between Source games. Steam tells me that it would take 6615 MB to backup all TF2 files.

Oh, whoops. Yeah, that was TF2 Local files only. My mistake. Thought 1.7GB sounding a little low, but then again 6.6GB sounds a little high so what do I know. That and it's 4am, I think I'll place some blame there too.
