I didn't know where to post this, but it's an interesting video of Bendis and Kirkman debating Creator-owned and Corporate comics for writers http://revision3.com/ifanboy/kirkmanvsbendis/

I know how Kirkman feels, but what does Bendis say?
His basic message is that while it's lovely for the few creators who do manage to find success with creator owned work, it's really not that easy. And there is no reason a balance can't be struck between creator owned and non creator owned work, it doesn't have to be either/or.
It's like webcomics, just because Penny Arcade is successful doesn't mean anyone doing a 3 a week gaming strip can therefore expect the same level of success.
Hey, I have a question. Should I give Invincible another chance?
When did you give up on it, and why?
Personally, I'd say no.
I don't know, it was a long time ago. It just didn't feel right. Nothing really happened for long stretches of time and I became bored with it. It seemed very superficial and static, without real emotion. If it had been a film, I would have said Invincible had a crappy director and actors.
Of course, that was then. I might appreciate it differently now or maybe I just remembered it wrong.
Hey so, there's a comic con thing on tomorrow in my city and since I've never been to one before I kind of need to ask this ridiculous question here, what's the erm, etiquette I guess about getting shit signed? Cause Andy Diggle and Jock are going to be there so I was thinking about getting them to sign one of my copies of Green Arrow Year 1. Do I just get in a queue and then thrust the issue at them to sign or what?
Some people like Kevin Smith's stuff, and something happens in it that deeply impacts future stories, but frankly I've only liked Bendis and Brubaker's arcs.

Could you give me a vague issue number to start on?

The downside to Lucifer is that it was my first exposure to Carey, and I have been find his work that followed... lacking, when compare to that awesome series....
Since the Help I'm New thread doesn't seem to get much attention, I'll put this here as well:
So I just ordered Seed of Destruction and Preludes and Nocturnes. I am so freaking excited to dig in to them.
By the way, what's the general opinion on Lucifer? The concept is intriguing. How's the execution?
More plot driven than Sandman, with a ultimate badass as the main character. Its pretty awesome.
I liked Lucifer more than Sandman.
Seems like a lot of people are saying this. I'll make my way through Sandman first just because it's Gaiman and I love him (and that's where Luc's story starts anyway, right?) but I'm definitely looking forward to getting my paws on Lucifer soon after. You guys have gotten me all giddy about it.
I think the truly amazing thing about Lucifer is how well-developed the characters became despite being (by and large) unsympathetic or evil at times. In the end, like with normal humans, you learn to look past their faults and enjoy their good character. It's quite impressive writing.

I loved that comic
Could you give me a vague issue number to start on?
16, apparently.
If you're confident you'll like Daredevil, get the omnibus.

it was a great spinoff, too, because carey made his own totally unique mythology and world that was still clearly connected to and inspired by sandman
Awesome. I can't wait to pick that one up.

I did this and I was not disappointed!
