I was thinking about doing a fresh install on my laptop, just backing up some files on dvd then starting over fresh. The thing is, it is a Laptop I bought that came with Vista pre-installed. Is there a way to reset/reinstall Vista if I dont have a disk? Will I need to buy a disk?
Depending on the company, there may be a refreshing partition on the hard drive that you can reinstall from, what brand laptop is it, and when did you buy it?
Do you have the original documents and any disc's that came with it?
It is a Lenovo brand, which I bought from Big W this time last year. I cannot remember off of the top of my head whether or not there was any documentation that came with it, but I will give more details as soon as I get home.
As long as you have a legit key you can just download your version of Vista from BitTorrent. MS doesn't care where you get the disc as long as the license is legal.
Look on the bottom of the laptop for the official MS license stick.

I just found the manual, and there is indeed a partition on the computer. I didn't know this was how they did it now, so cheers mate.
