I didn't really know what to put in the title, hopefully that draws in some people. Solar Vengeance is an RTS (in spaaaaace!) about finding planets, conquering planets, and then using those planets to build more ships in order to conquer more planets. The more planets you have, the more power you have. In the end, the goal is to conquer your enemies' home planets. It moves incredibly fast (my last two games were no more than 5 minutes long), is really easy to play and is surprisingly fun.
It's not pretty, and the UI definitely shows its age, but give it a shot. It takes maybe 3 minutes to learn.
I doubt I'll attract too many players (the game has been around since the 90s), but hopefully a few people will be interested enough to- at the very least- download the game and play it a few times. Obviously the game has an online component, hence the Game On title of this thread, so once you have your bearings (which shouldn't take more than...oh, 5 minutes), we can hop online and kill each other.
How is this different from every other space 4X out there?
It's real-time, it moves extremely fast, there is no tech tree, and the only reason to conquer planets is to have resources to make more ships to find their home planet and take it. Games can take anywhere from 3 minutes to 30, and it's really micro-intensive. Lots of fun.
Nobody? Come on, give it a try! There's actually a lot of strategy in the game, but it moves so fast you might not think so at first. You're limited to building 6 different kinds of starships which you pick in your profile before the game. Everything from basic warships to inkspots, which track enemy starships once the inkspot fires at them, there are ships that increase resource yields, freighters that allow you to ship resources from one planet to another, and even a ship that hijacks enemie warships so you can use them.
