    Game gift certificates

put £30 worth in your basket (£25 + £5) and then apply code "SENSE" and you get £5 off, so you get £30 in gift certificates for £25.

Rinse and repeat, and you can get a Wii (if they ever have stock) for £150 or a PS3 for £354

not sure if the code works more than once in the same account, but you can just set up seperate accounts with your address with a a/b after it.

ie, if you like at -
    "123 random street"

    change it to -
    "123a random street"

or you could get friends and familly to order for you. At that ps3 is slightly more patlletable.

HMV appear to be selling Puzzlequest for the DS at £19.99, which is cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. Also, Phoenix Wright: Justice For All is currently going for the same price at Gamestation in Nottingham. Dunno if it's every Gamestation or just a regional thing, but worth checking out.

German 360 tard pak/Core konsole 198,97 Euro, works out at £137.50 delivered. You need to get a new power cable, but its the same as any computer or kettle.

At this price, its probably worth it to get the tard pack, but just need to get a memory card.

well, my order for 8 x halo 3 legendary edition just went through, total of £40.00. RRP £560. Nice little profit margin there. If HMV go through with this then I think I will just flog these all for like £35 each, or whack em on ebay for massive profits.

I wonder why retails seem to struggle with Halo 3 legendary edition, both amazon and hmv have had large misspricing errors with it...

btw, its not just a reserve, because the other versions add the total amount of the item to you order.

If it is supposed to be a reserve, that is their mistake, and they cannot force you to pay, worst case scenario, they cancel your order.

Wonderful find. I pre-ordered twenty. There's no chance of HMV honouring the mistake; this is just too epic a cockup to be honoured. I do, however, expect to get a good amount of freebies out of the deal.

    So:

"b. HMV must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted, and the contract formed. Payment is not taken until the point of despatch of the goods to you from our premises in Guernsey. Once payment has been received HMV will confirm that your order has been received by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your registration form. The shipment email will include your name, the order number and the total price. HMV s acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms. Any term sought to be imposed by you in your order will not form part of the contract.

    c. HMV are entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the goods appearing on our web site. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the goods that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible by email. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the goods, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or to cancel the order altogether."

I guess worst case scenario, the order is cancelled, as you said.

    indeed, me too.

Although hmv have historically honourd missprices. Worth a shot, as I said, worst case scenario is that they will cancel the order and appologise, at which point I/we email them and try and blag some gift vouchers.

there is no where durring the order process, or in the order confirmation that states it is a pre-order. No other items in the HMV online catalogue have reserves for pre-orders, they just take your details and charge you when they ship the item.

Uh. The big purple button says 'PRE-ORDER' on it. To be fair, it doesn't say that it's only a reserve price and that you will have to pay full price afterward, either.

I realised what a fool I was being only getting one of them, so I just ordered three more. :D

Anything that I beleive to be a missprice I state as being so, its not like I am trying to trick you.

Looking back over the past few pages, there is a couple of items that resulted in cancelled orders, but only one that I didn't point out was probably a missprice (Panzer Dragoon Saga) and that was actually labelled as 'in stock' just gamestation didn't keep their site up to date with stock levels.

Alot of the items I post are clearance items, and so may go out of stock very quickly, but I know that alot of people have saven alot of money from me posting bargains, even if a couple of people get disapointed from cancelled order, but bigger picture, no one looses anything by taking a risk on missprices, and, with things like the DAB 2000, they are going to benefit (something along the lines of £20 amazon gift certificate).

Hmmmm, I don't mind snagging a bargain now and then, but I personally wouldn't take advantage of a misprice of a limited edition product. For something like the Halo 3 Legendary edition, Bungie seem to have put alot of effort into it - I think its more than worth the £70. Seeing a mis-price and trying to snag as many as you can get does seem a bit greedy (IMO).

I hope if the quantities are REALLY limited that they restrict it to one per customer when they get an idea of stock allocations.

I could use the money more than Bungie. Besides, it's not Bungie or Microsoft that would lose any money in the absurdly unlikely event that the pricing mistake is honoured; HMV would still pay the publisher the same amount per unit. Call me selfish if you will, but I consider a few extra pounds in my pocket to be of greater importance than a blip on HMV's balance sheet.

And fuck off is it worth £70.

Thats mostly how I feel. But on top of that, HMV will either get bad PR if they just cancel all orders, or it will cost them to give compensation for cancelled orders, or they will fullfill all orders at a large loss.

Thus, by placing an order, you are giving them economic insentive to not fuck up like this again, encouraging them to maintain their site well in the future. It's essentially playing a role in capitalism, which, like it or not, is the business HMV are in, and by being a customer, you are too.
